We've changed our name ever-so-slightly...

We launched almost 22 years ago as JHR and over the years, have been known as JHR Recruitment, JH Recruitment and for the last decade or so, Jo Holdsworth Recruitment.

And now, in 2026, we’re bringing everything together under JH Recruitment & Consultancy.

This one is more than a name change. It reflects how our conversations with clients have changed over the years.

Recruitment will always be a huge part of what we do, but the conversations we have with businesses are rarely just about filling a vacancy anymore.

Often, a role lands with us and, once we start talking properly, the question becomes much bigger than “who do we recruit?”

- Is the structure right?
- Does the role actually need replacing?
- Could responsibilities be reshaped across the team?
- Is there a capability gap, a leadership issue or a process problem underneath it?
- Could technology or AI change what the business needs?

Sometimes the right answer is absolutely to recruit.

But sometimes the best thing a business can do is not rush out to market and replace like-for-like. It’s to look at what’s really needed and make sure the next hire is part of the solution rather than simply filling a gap.

That thinking is really where JH Consultancy came from.

We now work with businesses across six areas we call our Foundations for Growth:
