No employer brand - mediocre people = mediocre company .
65% of all sales hiring problems, believe it or not are actually marketing and branding issues.
The rest? well that's just the technical stuff like job specs, interviewer skills, and having realistic expectations.
Think your candidate pool isn’t good enough? that’s probably because you aren’t attracting the top talent!
Marketing departments will never admit this but a business actually has two brands, the one the customer sees and the one a prospective employee sees.
Sometimes these can merge if the customer-facing brand is super strong. But almost all hiring managers get this wrong. They mix up the two! they think their customer brand is enough to lure in top talent. IT IS NOT !
So, when you ask them why a salesperson should join their company, they give you the customer pitch. Guess what? That’s totally irrelevant and just makes them look a bit clueless, don't you think?
Its not HR's problem .
Its not TA's problem .
Your employer brand is more important than the one customers see.
No employer brand - mediocre people = mediocre company .
