🚨 212,000 women left the US workforce between January and July 2025 – while 44,000 men entered it.
A growing trend, dubbed the “Power Pause,” sees some women in high-performing, white-collar jobs choosing to step back. They’re pressing pause on traditional career paths to spend more time with children, start businesses, or simply reclaim their energy.
👉 For some, this is an act of empowerment — a conscious choice to live differently.
👉 For many others, stepping away isn’t a choice at all but the result of unaffordable childcare, burnout, or workplaces that fail to support them.
This raises a critical question: what will the long-term impact be on women’s advancement, leadership, and representation in the workplace?
At Jobs for Women, we believe that women shouldn’t have to choose between thriving at work and thriving at home. Equality means having real options — and support — at every stage.
💬 Do you see the “Power Pause” as empowerment, or as a warning sign that workplaces still aren’t working for women?
