Trainee Mortgage Adviser – Wakefield

A leading player in the mortgage arena is looking to identify talented Trainee Mortgage Advisers, to train and develop so that you can achieve your goal of becoming a Mortgage Adviser. You will start off initial on the enquiries line, preparing customers for their mortgage application and offer best practice advice where appropriate. After 18 months, once you have proven yourself, you will have a full funding by the business to compete your Mortgage Qualifications and once complete there is a guarantee of a homebased Mortgage Adviser role.

In this role, your main duties will be:
• Handling enquiries, passed over by various partners, from excited home buyers looking to secure a Mortgage for their dream home.
• Building rapport with individuals and really understanding their needs.
• Being a ‘Trusted Adviser’ for the customers’ requirements.
• Taking customers through the initial ‘fact find’ and establish whether they qualify for the funding that they require.
• Arranging an appointment with an internal Mortgage Adviser once the customer has passed the qualify criteria.
• Updating the internal systems and records to keep all information up to date.
• Ensuring that you are following compliance protocols and treating customers fairly.

To be considered for this position, you must be someone that is extremely driven to both exceed targets given and that can build rapport easily with customers. You’ll be a ‘bubbly’ person and have a positive, proactive approach to your work. It is required that you have experience of sales and enjoy this fast paced, reward-led, culture. You will be flexible around your work life; you will work every other weekend, with time off in the week, so must be comfortable with this. Ideally, you will be from the Financial Services Sector, however exceptional candidates from either a Call Centre, or other high customer centric environment, such as Retail and Hospitality, will be considered.

The rewards are vast. Along with your base salary of £20k, you will receive a guaranteed bonus of £250 for the first 6 months as you build your knowledge and get up and running. Following this, you will be part of a very generous and uncapped bonus structure which sees top performers more than double their earnings. If you meet expectation in the first 12 months, you will receive a 25% increase in salary, to £25k, on your employment anniversary as a thank you for your efforts, and a commitment to you. As mentioned, at 18 months service you will have the option to progress with your CeMap qualifications (as mentioned at no expense to you) to become a Mortgage Adviser, once complete, you will receive a further £10k increase in salary with on target earning of £70k.

Some of your main duties will be:
• Liaising with a range of clients, ensuring that the best possible service is always provided.
• Ensuring that any queries are dealt with swiftly and efficiently.
