We are recruiting for 6 QC Operatives to work at a busy poultry factory based in Woodbridge, Suffolk.
Quality Control Job Description.
About the Role
To complete paperwork and tasks associated with producing product on line to the correct specification and customer requirements.
To observe, record, adjust and correct any product or processes in order to maintain adherence to specification, quality and food safety at all times.
To support Compliance Auditors and Line Leaders in their role to maintain standards, behaviours and practices at all times.
Reporting jointly to the QA Supervisor and Line leader, the Process controller is accountable for maintaining records, following specifications and reporting product and process non- conformances on a daily basis. He/she is also responsible for ensuring the health & safety and welfare of colleagues working on the shop floor within his/hers area.
Main tasks and responsibilities
As Process Controller you will be expected to:
Ensure that all documentation is completed correctly and in accordance with site quality procedures.
To ensure that any corrective actions are followed up and closed out.
To ensure that products meet customer specifications.
Report all necessary matters to the Compliance auditor and Line leader ensuring that he/she is fully aware of relevant production, personnel, quality and MHS issues.
To undertake such ad hoc duties as may be required in order to benefit the business.
Help check critical control parameters within the factory processes.
Check quality and adherence to specification of finished products
Assist in customer visits and audits in the factory, demonstrating standard practices to the requirements of the customer and the factory.
Ensure all product adheres to specification on product quality, labelling etc.
Control CCP consumables such as metal detector pieces, scales, probes etc.
To carry out pre production and hygiene checks.
Competencies
Preferably experience in a production and technical environment or similar
Understanding and knowledge of BRC – favourable
Knowledge of HACCP – favourable
Ability to execute and implement change as necessary to ensure the continued profitability of the department
Intermediate Food Hygiene
Health & Safety training
People management skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Problem solving skills
Able to enforce conformance.

Pay rate is £9.35 and will increase to £9.80 on completion of training and overtime paid after 40 hours at time and a third.
Monday to Friday 07:00 - 18:00 or 18:00 - 06:00
