Production Planner
Location: Earls Colne, Essex
Pay: £16.82 per hour (Temp) | £35,000 per annum upon successful completion of 12-week temporary period
Hours:
Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 4:30pm
Friday: 7:30am – 1:30pm

We are recruiting for a Production Planner to support the Production Planning team. This is a varied role that focuses on planning administration, data management and cross-departmental coordination, ensuring production schedules run efficiently and customer expectations are met.
Working closely with the Production Planner, Procurement, Production, Stores and Customer Services, you'll play a key role in maintaining accurate planning data, monitoring production schedules and supporting on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the creation and maintenance of production schedules and planning reports.
Update and maintain planning information within the ERP system and other business systems.
Monitor order progress, material shortages and schedule adherence, escalating any issues where necessary.
Prepare daily and weekly planning reports and performance data.
Support production capacity reviews and production loading meetings.
Coordinate communication between Production, Purchasing, Stores, Customer Service and other departments.
Generate and distribute planning reports and documentation.
Maintain accurate records of planning activities and schedule changes.
Support inventory and work-in-progress (WIP) review activities.
Carry out general administrative duties within the Production Planning function.
Provide cover for the Production Planner during periods of absence.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Previous experience in a production planning, manufacturing or planning administration role.
Experience using ERP systems.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other business systems.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to organise and interpret data accurately.
Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across departments.
The ability to work independently while following established processes.
A proactive attitude with a focus on continuous improvement.
