We have an amazing opportunity for an Area Cleaning Manager in Buxton. Derbyshire to get on-board at this exciting time and help support and grow our rapidly expanding company.

Area Cleaning Managers should have a proven track record of success in quality establishments, sound management experience coupled with strong communication and organisation skills, the ability to think outside the box and deliver against set targets.

Experience:

Previous experience of leading a team to drive change and transform cleaning services across several different locations is desirable.
Excellent client communications skills with the ability to present information clearly.
A proven track record of delivering results through engaging teams to delivery exceptional standards of service at their sites.
Effective people management skills.
Great time management.
A full driving licence is essential
Key Objectives:

Managing day to day delivery of cleaning services service across multiple sites across centra and South Derbyshire including Commercial business, Schools, Colleges, etc.
Supporting a part time workforce, selection and recruitment along with ensuring compliance with on-going training needs and appraisals.
Regular customer contact to ensure we are responsive and adaptable.
Budgetary responsibility to maintain viability of contracts.
Planning and managing team to ensure all contracts are fully supported.

The Role:

This is a key role providing Business Partnering support to key business areas, working with and supporting Operational Managers across Derbyshire but with scope to travel when required.

The aim of the role is to coach, train, partner and empower managers in your partnered business area.

No two days will be the same and this role is about partnering the team on a continuous journey of improvement, rather than day to day administration or being based in an office. Main Activities and Responsibilities:

To work with Operational Management teams, under the direction of the People Team Manager, to deliver goals and objectives aligned to the business and the People Making the Difference strategy
To provide proactive, value added coaching and support to the partnered service area/s on medium to long term operational people challenges and change management
To challenge, coach and influence operations managers and colleagues constructively in order to drive a high performing culture and build capability and knowledge
To support talent and succession planning and change management in line with business objectives
To champion a positive approach to wellbeing across the business areas, promoting the Groups total rewards benefits including the We Care employee support scheme
Develop strong working relationships with the operational management teams
Where required support with group wide projects or initiatives
To reinforce the ownership of people management by line managers and provide appropriate coaching where required
To provide support to the People Team on complex casework where required
To provide procedural and policy advice and information to line managers and colleagues
To provide accurate and timely People updates, insights and data to line management and the people team
To identify training needs and to deliver People Training sessions to line managers such as on Disciplinary, Grievances, TUPE etc
To partner with key stakeholders to ensure all People projects and initiatives are appropriately communicated and implemented in your partnered area/s
To support with People Team systems, ensuring they are up to date with company changes and to produce statistics from the information available.
To conduct site visits, ensuring compliance with policy and process as well as driving performance and change, feeding back to and supporting the central People Team on wider operational impacts or challenges identified.
To attend regular monthly meetings including overnight stays near our Collaboration Hub in Ipswich
The People Business Partner will have:

Proven experience of working in partnership and building strong working relationships with operational managers in a complex and unionised working environment
Knowledge and experience of implementing best practice people solutions to drive a high performance culture
Experience of coaching, influencing and challenging managers constructively
Excellent communication skills and the ability to negotiate and influence effectively with all levels of an organisation
Proven involvement in organisational change programmes
Ability to understand and interpret policies, procedures and relevant legislation.
Excellent written and verbal skills, along with having a sensitive and professional manner
Excellent and up to date technical knowledge of employment law and best practice
Experience of working in a unionised environment
Highly organised and the ability to prioritise workload
CIPD qualified to at least CIPD level 5 or equivalent experience

About The Role

As an HR Consultant Generalist you will be working with schools and academies providing HR Advice and Guidance to support the best outcomes for children’s education. You will have experience of advising on your own caseload of HR employee relation cases, alongside delivering and developing training courses.

The HR Consultant Generalist will hold a CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent, and must be keen to use their HR experience to influence and make a difference in education. Role Responsibilities

Manage own complex caseload and deliver high quality advice to all customers, which is clear, compliant, consistent and adds value, providing the employer with options and risk analysis as appropriate.
To provide advice and guidance relating to Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance and safer recruitment practices.
Provide clear advice to customers in writing, over the phone and, if required at formal meetings on the customer’s premises or virtually.
Act as named HR contact for allocation of around 30 individual Schools each with their individual governance and leadership in place, and regularly attend strategy meetings.
Support CEOs of Multi Academy Trusts (MATs) and Single Academy Trusts with their HR strategic plans in the short and medium term.
Liaise with trade union representatives on cases/projects to promote best practice employee relations.
Maintain accurate case notes, time logs and casework information.
Prepare and review HR advice and guidance on employment law, policies and procedures to be shared with customers via newsletters, FAQs on specialist knowledge and topic’s dependent on changes
Support colleagues in the HR Consultancy Team and the wider Schools’ Choice team by sharing expertise and knowledge through collaborative working. Constantly seek to identify opportunities to improve service delivery through driving change to systems, processes and procedures and supporting the development of new products and services.
Design and deliver training on key employment matters within subject specialist area.
Undertaking investigations as required depending capacity.
To provide advice and guidance on TUPE Conversions.
Requirements

Associate CIPD Level 5 with desire to work towards CIPD Chartered Member Level
At least 3 years operational knowledge and experience advising on employee relations cases.
Experience of designing and delivering HR training to a range of audiences
Experience of working in a unionised environment
Extensive employment law knowledge
Excellent customer relationship management skills
Desirables

Knowledge of School Teachers’ terms and conditions of employment.

Experience in schools or wider education sector.

Understanding of Keeping Children Safe in Education 2021

Experience of undertaking HR investigations
