I'm currently recruiting for two Fire & Security Engineers in Yorkshire on behalf of one of our longest-standing clients. In fact, the last engineer I placed with them is still there 5.5 years later, which says a lot about the company, the management team, and how they look after their engineers.

🔧 The Role
• Service, fault finding & small works
• Covering sites across Yorkshire
• Retail, commercial & distribution centre environments
• 1 in 6 call-out rota

💰 Package
✅ Basic salary up to £39,000
✅ Door-to-door travel paid at OVERTIME RATES
✅ £200 standby payment
✅ 40-hour week with flexible start & finish times
✅ 22 days holiday + bank holidays
✅ Company van with personal use
✅ Discounted private healthcare

Senior Engineer…. How long have you said you don’t want to be on the tools forever?

One of our respected Fire & Security clients is ready to bring a strong Senior Engineer off the tools and into a leadership position

These roles don’t come up often.

🔥 The Role

This is a stepping stone into full management.

You’ll be:

✔ Managing & overseeing the Small Works division
✔ Leading 5 engineers + subcontractors
✔ Planning works & organising materials
✔ Supporting installations & ensuring projects are delivered to a high standard
✔ Providing technical support & problem-solving
✔ Visiting sites to maintain quality control
✔ Liaising with clients for handovers & commissioning sign-off
✔ Occasionally supporting call-outs if the team are stretched

This role is built to evolve into a Management position.

They want someone structured, technically strong, respected by engineers — and ready for progression.

💰 The Package

• Basic up to £42,000
• Door-to-door travel paid at overtime rates
• OTE £55,000+
• Hybrid company car
• Commission structure
• 2 weeks paid training per year
• Clear career progression pathway

This is for the engineer who:

👉 Is already supporting others
👉 Knows their systems inside out
👉 Wants leadership responsibility
👉 Is thinking 3–5 years ahead, not just next week’s job sheet

It’s no secret that our sector is heavily male-dominated, and with that often comes a culture of “just getting on with it.” But behind the uniforms, the vans, the toolkits, and the long days… are real people with real struggles.

💬 This month, we want to remind every man in our industry: your mental health matters.

You don’t have to be the strong one all the time.
You don’t have to bottle things up.
You don’t have to “man up.”

👉 Reach out. Talk to someone you trust. Check in on your mates.
