✨The Fair Work Agency - April 2026 ✨

From April 2026, the Fair Work Agency (FWA) officially launched in the UK, bringing a significant shift in how employment law is enforced.

The FWA brings together previously separate bodies, namely HMRC's National Minimum Wage enforcement team, the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority (GLAA), and the Employment Agency Standards Inspectorate (EAS), into one unified agency. The result is a more coordinated, more powerful approach to protecting workers' rights.

For employers, particularly those working with temporary or agency workers, you need to ensure your house is in order.

Here is what to review:

Minimum wage compliance across all worker types, including agency staff. Holiday pay calculations, which remain one of the most common areas of non-compliance. Contracts and working arrangements for temporary and zero-hours workers. Payslip accuracy and transparent deductions.
