'An industry we wouldn’t have otherwise explored'.

Many schools don’t always have the opportunity to learn about the construction industry and the wide range of careers it offers. To help change that, Kate Hughes, representing Integrated Services, delivered a presentation to Years 7–11 at Millais School, an all-girls’ secondary school in Horsham.

Kate spoke about her journey to becoming a project manager and highlighted the pathways into the industry. The session gave students a valuable chance to ask questions, gain insight and explore a role they might not have previously considered.

It was a fantastic opportunity to introduce construction as a potential career path, one that the school noted they may not otherwise have explored.

We would also like to thank our colleagues Andrew Cooper-Keith, who shared case studies on the younger generation and highlighted industry progress as an ally for women in construction, and Jess Peskett, who supported the presentation.

Last week, we hosted a Charity Golf Day at the London Golf Club in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust.

We were joined by Taylor OFarrell, a cancer survivor, who shared his story with the group. It's one thing to play a round in support of a cause. It's another to hear first-hand what that cause actually means. Taylor reminded everyone why days like this matter.

To add to the occasion football legend Teddy Sheringham stepped up and got a hole-in-one. His first in 30 years! A great moment for him, and an even better one for Teenage Cancer Trust, as it helped us raise even more for this incredible cause.

We're still counting up the final total, but we'll share the number as soon as it's confirmed. Every penny goes to a charity that supports young people through one of the hardest things a person can face.

Every project has the visible work that everyone sees.
And then there’s everything else that happens around it.
Here are a few of those moments from the past few months.

Our team took on the Brighton half-marathon,
kicking off this year’s fundraising
for Teenage Cancer Trust.

We attended the South Thames College
apprenticeship information evening,
sharing gateway opportunities with students.

Across our sites,
we welcomed work experience placements,
learning everything from civils
to site management,
supporting local development.

On one of our Southampton projects,
we donated carpet tiles
to The Salvation Army.

At our Wimbledon site,
we donated pallets to the local community
and welcomed students
to visit the project.

And there’s plenty more ahead.
We have a number of events coming up this year,
including several charity golf days.

All of this happens behind the scenes, alongside the projects you see taking shape in cities across the country.

This isn’t a one-off fundraiser for us.

We support Teenage Cancer Trust every year through charity fundraising events.

Our co-founder Lewis Yorke-Johnson is on the advisory board.

And we take the time to listen to those who benefit most from the support.

Seventeen years ago, The Shore Group was just getting started.

Founded by Lewis Yorke-Johnson and James Hobden, they wanted to transform the way construction recruitment was delivered.

Today, as we celebrate our 17th birthday, it’s clear how far we’ve come.

We remain incredibly proud of our heritage in construction recruitment.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Charity Golf Day - what an amazing day it was!

The event was a fantastic success, raising awareness for Teenage Cancer Trust, and we were privileged to be joined by Taylor O’Farrell, who bravely shared his cancer journey with us. Taylor’s story had a powerful impact on everyone in the room, reminding us of the realities young people with cancer face. Thank you to everyone who donated so generously on the day.

It was wonderful to see so many of you there, from complete beginners to seasoned golfers. We were also grateful to have professional golfer and two-time LET winner Annabel Dimmock with us, offering advice, challenging teams and sharing her inspirational story with everyone.

A special thank you as well to Ian Stafford for hosting the day.

We hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did, and we look forward to welcoming you again next year.
