🏡 One Month in Mazarrón...

A month ago, OakGar was packed into boxes, loaded into a van, and heading towards a brand new adventure.

Fast forward a few weeks, and those boxes are (mostly!) unpacked, the coffee machine has become our best friend, and our new office is starting to come together.

Starting over in a new country isn't always easy, but every day reminds us why we made the move. From the warm welcome we've received to the beautiful surroundings, Murcia is already beginning to feel like home.

This is just the beginning for OakGar Recruitment. We're laying the foundations for something we're incredibly excited about, and we can't wait to share more with you over the coming weeks.

Thank you to everyone who's welcomed us so far—we're looking forward to becoming part of this fantastic community.

Since then, our journey has taken us across the UK, through Galicia, onto Guardamar, and now we've found our forever home in beautiful Mazarrón.

"What would make you stay in a role long term?"

It's a simple question.

But it often tells you far more than asking someone where they see themselves in five years or what they consider to be their biggest weakness.

Sometimes the best candidate doesn't get the job.

Not because they weren't good enough. But because...

The process moved too slowly and they accepted something else.
The job spec didn't reflect what the role actually needed.
The interview didn't give them the space to show who they really are.
Nobody was proactively looking — they were just waiting for applications to come in.

Brilliant people in care aren't sitting on job boards waiting to be found. They're already working, often not actively looking, and they move fast when the right opportunity appears.
