Our Possitive Recognition Winner in August is Katie David!🌟

Katie was nominated because of her willingness to step in and support her team during an emergency. "She helped pull together the staff needed to support a lady in hospital, despite already being busy preparing her own team and other teams".

Her creativity, dedication and help were all highlighted as part of her nomination.

The Superpower League is kicking off!⚽

Thanks to funding from Sport England, we’ve launched the Superpower League at PossAbilities. It's an inclusive football league designed to make getting involved in sport fun, accessible and something everyone can enjoy.

With adaptive rules, the league brings together 8 teams across the Northwest, with around 60 people taking part! 🙌

But it’s about more than football. The Superpower League is helping people stay fit, build confidence, and make new friendships, which is exactly what PossAbilities is about!

Our teams have now started their training sessions, all building up to one BIG knockout final later this year🏆

We can’t wait to see what our Superpower League teams achieve. Bring on the final!

⚽️ A big thank you to our fantastic tenants! ⚽️

We had a brilliant turnout for our football session, organised by House Manager Lou, with a helping hand from staff members Neil and Scott! 🙌⚽

It was great to see everyone getting involved, having fun and enjoying some friendly football together. There were plenty of smiles, teamwork and maybe even a few hidden footballing talents on show! 🌟

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Jimmy, who sadly passed away on 2 September 2026 with his family by his side, following an unexpected illness.

In his younger days, Jimmy was certainly a mischievous man and loved nothing more than playing pranks on the staff and the people he lived alongside. As the years went by, he mellowed with age, but he never completely lost that cheeky side — always managed to keep the staff on their toes!

Jimmy was a truly happy soul and his laughter could often be heard throughout Overbeck, along with his unmistakable raspberry blowing, which brought smiles and laughter to those around him.

He lived a fulfilled 70 years, making memories, sharing laughter and touching the lives of so many people along the way.

Jimmy will be deeply missed by his family, friends, staff team and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His cheeky smile, laughter and wonderful character will never be forgotten. ❤️

🎉 What an incredible night at our monthly Party Project at The Whitesmiths Arms in Wigan!

Everyone came together and partied the night away, with a fantastic performance from our special guest singer, Kevin, who has even appeared on Britain’s Got Talent! 🌟 The dance floor was packed for every song, and everyone thought he was amazing.

Certificates and prizes were handed out, and everyone left happy, smiling and perhaps a little worn out from all that dancing! 💃🕺

We can’t wait to do it all again next month! The Party Project takes place on the last Tuesday of every month—we hope to see you there! 😊
