What is Hylo you ask~ Hylo is created for peer-to-peer, networked collaboration.
The transition to a world that works for all will require unprecedented collaboration—and powerful tools designed specifically to support that work. For-profit, venture capital-backed platforms are not up to the task, as they:

Are profit driven—not relationship driven. The big social platforms are designed to extract your attention and data, turning you into the product for sale.

Are built for individual companies and brands—not for peer-to-peer collaboration. These platforms have no ability to create conversations that unite multiple groups in a shared context.

Are increasingly adversarial. Platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram are constantly tweaking their algorithms to keep us hooked with ever more outrageous content, while censoring activists working for positive change. It's not just distracting, it's unhealthy and overstimulating. Trying to organize for impact on platforms like that is counterproductive and just doesn't feel good.

We are each a part of something bigger, how we engage with it is reflected in how it grows and contributes also to our own (community) development. Have a good day.

Feeling connected to other people is at the heart of happiness theirs and ours.

Whether these connections are with our partners, families, friends, work colleagues, neighbours or others in our communities, they can all contribute to happiness and resilience. So taking action to build, maintain and strengthen our relationships is important.

Having close relationships with family or friends provides love, meaning, support and can increase our feelings of self-worth. Our broader social networks, like those in our local community or at school or work, can contribute to a sense of belonging. Indeed studies show people with strong relationships are happier, healthier and may even live longer. Having a network of social connections or high levels of social support even appears to increase our immunity to infection, lower our risk of heart disease and reduce mental decline as we get older.

There's lots we can do to build and maintain our relationships and feel more connected to our community.

Why not take action right now? Join Abi, our coach from the 10 Days of Happiness program, for a short video and a quick activity to help you feel more connected.

In this action we look at how connecting with others can improve our happiness.
