We have a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated, solution-focused professional with proven management experience, in a 55 Bed Nursing Home.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Manager with a strong knowledge of attachment-based practice to lead a long-standing, experienced staff team to ensure that the residents in the care home have the very best home in which to thrive and be happy.
Job Purpose
Delivery of business performance and quality targets for a specific Nursing Home. Provide support and leadership to the Care Home staff, engendering a culture of customer focus and quality of service. Establish and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders.
Principal Accountabilities:
• Ensure that quality standards are maintained and drive for continuous improvement at all times
• Practice maximum integrity in all dealings with clients personal and financial affairs to build and maintain trust
• Effectively manage Nursing Home staff through coaching, mentorship and development to inspire, motivate and lead the team, dealing effectively with performance issues when they arise.
• Assess and maintain the correct number of staff for the Nursing Home at any given time through robust rostering and maintenance. Recruiting appropriate staff where necessary. Be ‘on-call’, for emergencies, which may arise within the Nursing Home, and to cover shifts if all other avenues have been exhausted.
• Maintain control of the budgetary spend within the Nursing Home through regular monitoring
• Effectively manage relationships with residents, their families, local people within the local community and with professional colleagues.
• Provide reports and updates to the Directors on the Nursing Home performance and development.
• Deliver optimum operational efficiency and cost effectiveness within the Nursing Home.
• Effectively monitor the care planning and ongoing evaluation of care
• Adhere to, and implement, all HR policies and procedures
• Actively market the Nursing Home and promote a positive personal / professional profile within the local community, ensuring the good reputation of the Nursing Home at all times.
• Ensure Staff Members receive appropriate training in all aspects of their work in the Care Centre, and are given help and guidance where appropriate. Promote Staff training and development and maintain up to date records.
• Understand, and ensure the implementation of, the Homes Health & Safety policy, and Emergency & Fire procedures.
• Be responsible for infection control. Monitor and review accident reports, ensuring regulatory bodies are informed of incidents when necessary e.g. Health Authorities/Boards, Environmental/Public Health etc.
• Ensure compliance with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulatory requirements. Prepare draft response to Care Quality Commission Inspection Reports for approval by responsible Individual prior to issue.
• In conjunction with the Directors, effectively action and investigate any complaints received in the home in a timely manner
• Control the ordering and administration of drugs within the Nursing Home and maintain the necessary records as and when required by the regulatory authorities.
Communications and Working Relationships:
Work closely with the Directors, the homes administrator and other professional colleagues to ensure high quality standards and maximum efficiency within the designated Nursing Home. Develop and maintain an appropriate external network of relevant contacts, key customers and stakeholders aimed at promoting the Nursing Homes(s) and Company in the local community.
