Russia is hiding the true scale of its child deportations, according to Dmytro Lubinets. The Ombudsman stated that 1.6 million Ukrainian children have lived under Russian occupation since 2014, with 742,000 forcibly relocated or deported to Russia between Feb and Dec 2022 alone.

The poll tested four scenarios, and the results form a precise ladder of conditions and support. A ceasefire without any security guarantees draws only 32% approval, 61% categorically reject it

European troops positioned near the frontline who would actively defend Ukraine against renewed Russian aggression draws 61% approval, which is a clear majority in favor, with 33% still opposed.

European troops deployed deep in Ukraine but not committed to fight if Russia attacks draws 42% approval, which is a minority, rejected by 49%. Large-scale financial and weapons supply as a security guarantee draws 53% approval — a slim majority with substantial skepticism remaining.

The pattern is direct: the stronger and more credible the guarantee, the higher the support. The variable is not whether Ukrainians want peace. They do.

The variable is whether they trust that a ceasefire without teeth would not simply be an operational pause before Russia attacks again.
