Join on the third Sunday of the month they said, so we did and what a great way to spend a couple of hours..... the nature reserve is amazing!!
We spent time cleaning up then had a cuppa. We want to encourage more of our volunteers to also volunteer more widely in their community and this regular clean up is a great way to do it.
One of our volunteers even brought along her husband so 'more folk met more folk' and they are both going to sign up again which we think is pretty cool!
Everyone meets at 11 am at Applecross Basin, near Scottish Canals HQ. Everything is provided such as gloves, picks and hoops plus tea, coffee & doughnuts for after!
It really is a great way to get some exercise and fresh air as well as meet more folk and keep a lovely green space clean for all too!

Our meditation taster sessions are for you to ' come and try' to see if you want to do more!
Meditation may be something you are unfamiliar with and /or have some ideas about. Why not come along and try it and see if it is what you thought it was ?
Taster sessions are on 30th June and 4th August.
Please share too with anyone you think would enjoy some 'quiet, 'me' time'.

Two years ago we started meditation sessions in person which then went online. The funding for them stopped but the group were getting a lot out of the sessions so 2 of the participants kindly asked how could they keep the group going.
We chatted and found funding for them both to train as Meditation Teachers- 2 years later they both are now qualified meditation teachers!
They are volunteers with us and are volunteering to share their meditation teaching skills in our community. We thank them both very much for their determination and generous spirit and we have very much enjoyed helping them on their journeys.
We have 2 meditation taster sessions coming up - 30th June 10.30-11.45 or 4th August 10.30-11.45 . Following the taster sessions there is a block of 4 sessions to sign up for on 11th, 18th and 25th August and 1st September. Spaces are limited . For any questions or to sign up please contact Jacqueline on [email protected] or call/text on 07454 918621
Huge Congratulations Janice and Maryanne. We are so proud of what you have both achieved and thank you for offering to share all of your skills with our volunteers, participants and wider community!

Last night we were at The Clay Cafe and shared a lovely meal with several of our volunteers.
We celebrated that 2 of our volunteers have completed their Meditation Teacher Training, our volunteer focus group were introduced to everyone , we heard a story from Dan our Storyteller in Residence and we welcomed a new baby girl, the 6 week old daughter of one of our volunteers.
We chatted , some folk met for the first time, others met again after several months and we enjoyed spending time together.
Thank you to all those who came along to our Volunteer Thank you Meal and we missed those who couldn't make it.

This past week has been Volunteers Week- a chance to say thank you to all our volunteers across Scotland.
A chance to thank each and every person who has given their time to work with us and others in Possilpark... from 2 hours every week to 3 hours on a Saturday at a Harvest Festival once a year.. no matter how often nor how little it all adds up and means a lot to us.
THANKYOU to all our volunteers. We really appreciate all that you have done and all that you do!
We have a Volunteer Thank you meal tomorrow night at Clay Cafe where we will share some food and chat and say thanks to all our volunteers who can make it along. Watch this space for some pictures after the meal if we remember to take them !
