We are seeking a French Native Linguist / Translator (English-French) - 26-30k per annum
Your main task will be to complete Patent translations into French. Typically, this may include:
-Translating into French
-Revising, reviewing, post-editing and/or proofreading translations into French, ensuring clarity, consistency and accuracy
-Developing AiMT post-edition guidelines
-Developing French style guides and terminology databases
-Providing feedback
-Training other linguists
-Exploring new technology, assessing, reporting
Ad-hoc projects as instructed by the Head of the Department
Person Specification:
You will:
-be of French mother-tongue
-hold a relevant University degree or translation qualification
-be fluent in English
You should also have the following skills:
-experience in translation/checking
-excellent French grammar/spelling
-computer literacy, good working knowledge of MS Office tools
-keen interest in technology, and the ability to test and report on findings
-good communication skills
-eye for detail
-ability to share and transmit new learning
-ability to work with deadlines
And advantageously:
patent translation experience
fluency in a third language
knowledge of CAT tools, in particular MemoQ
SDL and/or TAUS certificate in
post-edition
MTPE experience
