Job Description: Horizontal Borer – 1x role available (immediate starts)

The Client is a leading manufacturing company specializing in carbon steel products based in the Newton Aycliffe, Co Durham.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Horizontal Borer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating horizontal boring machines to perform precision machining operations. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate horizontal boring machines to machine parts to specifications.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job orders.
Set up and adjust machine tools and equipment for precision machining.
Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machines.
Ensure all work meets quality standards and specifications.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production processes.
Qualifications:
Technical certification or apprenticeship in machining preferred.
Proven experience as a Horizontal Borer or similar role.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
Strong understanding of machining principles and techniques.
Ability to use precision measuring tools and equipment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing and working on machinery.
Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
