The summer holidays can be especially challenging for learners who struggle with attendance, including those experiencing Emotionally Based School Absence (EBSA).
Without the routine of school, anxiety about returning in September can increase, making re-engagement more difficult.

Our Attendance Mentors work with learners and families throughout the summer, helping your learners to maintain routines, build confidence and overcome barriers to attendance. Through tailored one-to-one support, mentors help learners feel more prepared and positive about returning to education.

Why Fleet this summer?

Currently, our learner attendance sits at ~80%*, compared with just 57% nationally in state-funded Alternative Provision. The difference? Our approach.
Summer Provision should do more than fill a gap - it should keep learners engaged, supported and moving forward.

Our Summer Provision brings together tuition, mentoring, and wider learner support across the school holidays - delivered online or in person, one-to-one or in small groups, and tailored to need.

If you’re planning support over the 6-week break for learners who need academic tuition, mentoring, or both, we can help you put the right provision in place.

As we head into the summer term, now is the perfect time to think about getting summer holiday provision in place.

We remain open across the 6-week break, providing tuition and mentoring to support learners when continuity matters most, reducing regression and preparing for a stronger start in September.

🔸Summer Holiday Tuition
Our Supplementary Provision offers one-to-one or small-group tuition, online or in person, during the summer holidays. Flexible around learner needs, sessions reinforce key concepts, close learning gaps and build confidence.

🔸Summer Holiday Mentoring
Our one-to-one mentoring supports learners at home to overcome barriers, build positive routines, strengthen motivation and develop the personal, social and practical skills needed for long-term progression.

🔸Flexible, quality-assured delivery
Our educators and mentors are experienced in supporting learners with a wide range of needs, including SEND, SEMH, ADHD, autism and mental health challenges.

Exams are approaching. Easter is close. Momentum is slipping 🚨

At this point in the year, we're seeing that for some young people, attendance is fragile, confidence is low, and engagement is starting to slip. For others, the bigger question is what happens next - and whether there is enough support in place to help them finish the year positively and move towards a realistic pathway forward.

That’s where mentoring can make a real difference.

Our Attendance Mentors work with learners and families to tackle barriers, rebuild routines and support re-engagement with education, while our Progression Mentors help young people prepare for what comes next, from exams and reintegration to further education or employment.

Sessions are delivered 1:1, often within the learner’s home, and come with clear reporting that schools, MATs and local authorities can stand behind.

At a time when teams are balancing timing, capacity and accountability, the right mentoring support isn't about adding another intervention. It is about putting in place something structured, consistent and practical that helps learners move forward - and confidence in what is being delivered.

If this is a pressure point for your setting right now, contact our team at [email protected] or book a call next week, to lock in that support before Easter break 🤝

A really positive day at the Optimus SEND Update London today 😍

It was great to see so many SENCO's, SEND leaders, and practitioners coming together to talk openly about the largest themes shaping the sector right now.

We especially loved hearing so many thoughtful conversations focused on inclusion, practical support and improving outcomes for children and young people with SEND.

Events like this are always a good reminder of the value of collaboration, shared learning and provision that is genuinely built around individual need... and a great opportunity to connect with so many people doing important work across the sector.

Thank you to everyone who came along!

We’re incredibly excited to be exhibiting at NAVSH today 👋

The NAVSH Annual Conference brings together Virtual School Heads and partners from across the country to focus on one shared goal: improving outcomes for children in care and care-experienced young people.

For us, conversations like these matter. Many of the learners we support are navigating complex barriers to education, from disrupted schooling and trauma to gaps in attainment or confidence.

Through tailored tuition, alternative provision, mentoring and functional skills pathways, our focus is simple: meeting learners where they are and building the stability, skills and trust needed for meaningful progress.

Today is a chance to listen, learn and share ideas with colleagues across the sector who are all working towards the same thing - stronger systems, better collaboration, and better futures for young people.

If you’re attending NAVSH, please do come and find the Fleet team, we’d love to connect!
