Getting into the spirit for Valentines Day, I was recently called "Exeter's very own Cilla Black"!! 🤣

As a legal recruiter, I know that my job is basically to help lawyers find the right job, but it's recently become clear that over the years, I've inadvertently done much more than this...

I can proudly say that I have "played Cupid" to at least three couples! 💘

One of the couples, I placed both people into the same office at Ashfords in 2018 as Paralegals, both of them having graduated that year, only for them to become "an item". Well, fast-forward a few years, and they're now getting married!! 💍💍

Another person, I placed into a firm in Torquay, where they've also met their wife-to-be, as he popped the question last year and is now due to get married this year! 🔔🔔

As Cilla would have said, "I'll need to buy a new hat"! 👒

Last week marked 8 years since I launched Aspiria Legal, back in October 2017!

This year has possibly been one of the most challenging and yet also one of the most rewarding years so far, with a tough recruitment market to contend with, but some real highlights and successes along the way.

With Ostler joining the business, watching her develop into a first-class recruiter has been very exciting, while I also feel we've been able to take our marketing and candidate attraction to a different level to before.

One thing that hasn't wavered, is our commitment to doing the very best for our candidates and clients, with our Honest, Supportive and Giving approach (our three values), as well as proactively working with fewer candidates, so we can offer more time and value to each person we work with.

I'm really proud that Legal supports the charity Village Water with a monthly donation. In fact, we've supported them since November 2018 and are keen to continue doing so!

Imagine having to walk an hour every day just to get water. Then suddenly, you have access to clean, safe water right at your doorstep. That's what happened to Mwangala, a farmer, and many others in his village. Thanks to piped tap water, their lives have been transformed.

Families are now able to grow vegetables in their backyard gardens and ensure household food security. With this reliable water source, they can sell excess produce to buy essentials & even cover school fees. 🍅🎒

The seven villages involved have not only faced water shortages but also severe droughts and environmental challenges. Yet, with a stable water supply, these communities are now better equipped to deal with climate change and its impacts.

This initiative wasn't done in isolation. It was a community-led project supported by a local partner and the Ministry of Agriculture, ensuring it meets the unique needs of the region. This collaborative effort ensures that the benefits are sustainable long-term.

Village Water is honoured to support and walk alongside these communities, turning challenges into opportunities...
