Most recruitment content is boring. There, we’ve said it out loud.

If you’re , you’re scanning everything with several questions in mind: 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘫𝘰𝘣 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭, 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘷𝘢𝘯𝘵, 𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘩 𝘮𝘺 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦, 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘱𝘶𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘥, 𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘵 𝘩𝘺𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘥, 𝘥𝘰 𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘦 5 𝘥𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘢 𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘬, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 200 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘪𝘵?

If you’re , you’re on the other side of it thinking: 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘐 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘦, 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭, 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘥𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘫𝘰𝘣, 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘭𝘺 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘐 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘪𝘯, 𝘥𝘰 𝘐 𝘩𝘪𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘰𝘳 𝘯𝘰𝘵?

👉 Two completely different perspectives with very similar frustrations.

But most recruitment content doesn’t speak to either of you - it drifts into polished, abstract language, with the odd buzzword thrown in that sounds like it’s written for other recruiters, not for the people making the decisions.

The irony is, recruitment isn’t complicated, but it does hinge on professionalism, timing, real human beings, honesty, transparency and informed decision-making. But the way it’s often spoken about has turned it into something far more dull than it needs to be, with constant talk of 'hot jobs', ‘unicorn candidates’ and ‘top talent’.

So, whether you’re or , you’ll probably just scroll past the run-of-the-mill content.

But if this resonates with you, then great, this is what we talk about: having honest conversations about recruitment and hiring, because they are real, and really important.

(We're just slightly more unfiltered than the usual recruitment noise).

Larger organisations don't always have the advantage when competing for talent. In fact, many candidates tell us they are actively seeking smaller businesses to work for, and the reasons are surprisingly consistent:

➡️Greater visibility of impact
➡️Faster decision-making
➡️Broader responsibilities
➡️Closer leadership access
➡️More autonomy
➡️Interesting project exposure

The influence these factors have on candidate decisions is sometimes underestimated, and the challenge for companies is communicating this value proposition clearly during the hiring process.

Size and headcount isn't always the deciding factor, the employee experience often is and this starts at application stage.

What has your experience been as someone who is and/or ?

👉 Some people throw spaghetti at the wall to see if it's cooked.

👉 Some recruiters do the same with CVs - fire enough at a Hiring Manager and eventually one sticks.

Volume isn’t best-practice recruitment. Precision is.

The work is there.

The demand is there.

But a shortage of cleared technical professionals is slowing delivery, growth and contract award.

Who’s helping you solve it?

You can usually tell pretty quickly. A CV lands in your inbox and your first thought is:

'𝘼𝙝, 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙠𝙨 𝙜𝙤𝙤𝙙'

Not because it’s packed with buzzwords or polished corporate language, but because it genuinely fits. Quite often, the best candidates don’t just meet the technical requirements; they understand the environment, the pace, the pressure, and can see what the team is going to achieve.

💥 A CV can’t show that, but a personalised profile can. 💥

How? By meeting each candidate, having a detailed chat, finding out what's underneath the words on the CV (and finding out what isn't on there) taking time to discover more about the person in front of us.

That’s the difference between filling a vacancy and making the right hire.

Too much recruitment is focused on volume. We’re more interested in connection; bringing together people, teams and opportunities that actually work long term.

At Pimento Connection, we help Hiring Managers find talent that adds real value from day one.
