Hansal International is celebrating 13 Years of Success!

Reaching 13 years in business is a significant milestone — one that only a small percentage of companies achieve. In fact, some studies suggest that as few as 2% of businesses survive beyond the 10-year mark, especially consulting firms.

We have proudly served 50 clients across 10 countries and continue to grow stronger every year. 2025 has been no exception with the introduction of our AI courses.

To celebrate this incredible journey, the Hansal International team will be traveling throughout Europe during August — reflecting on our achievements and looking forward to exciting new opportunities ahead.

A heartfelt thank you to all our clients, partners, and supporters who have been part of this remarkable journey. Your trust and collaboration have taken us far beyond our wildest expectations.

Here’s to many more years on our journey together!

🚀 We’ve just wrapped up our latest AI Regulation course — and it rocked!

This week, we guided another group of forward-thinking professionals through the ins and outs of safely bringing AI into their organisations. The result? Everyone passed, with an impressive average exam score of 83%! 🎉💡

But here’s something you might not know (cue trivia music): while the EU AI Act grabs most of the headlines, four U.S. states have gone full throttle on AI laws too — shoutout to California, Utah, Colorado, and… Tennessee! 🗺️

Yes, Tennessee, the home of country music and Elvis Presley, passed a law so iconic it’s literally called the ELVIS Act. 🎤⚡ That’s right — the Ensuring Likeness, Voice, and Image Security Act protects performers (especially The King himself) from AI impersonation and voice cloning.

Because if anyone deserves their voice protected from deepfakes, it’s Elvis. Thank you very much. 🕺🎶

Do you know how much AI is currently being used in your business by your own employees?

On average our clients’ employees are using between 15 to 20 different AI tools - each bringing its own compliance considerations.

These tools span a spectrum of risk levels from transparency risk to high risk. We have seen at least one example of an AI tool being used by an employee that contains sentiment analysis which measures human emotional responses, something that is prohibited by the EU AI Act under article 5 (1) (f).

This reality underscores a critical point - AI compliance is no longer optional or a one-time checklist. It requires continuous vigilance, thorough risk assessments and proactive governance to safeguard data privacy, ethical standards, and regulatory adherence.

If your organisation hasn’t yet taken deliberate steps to manage AI compliance, now is the time.

Ensuring your AI ecosystem is compliant isn’t just about avoiding fines and penalties, it’s about building trust and resilience in the age of intelligent automation.

Hansal employees now use AI tools at least 3 times a day to help save time in their work and personal life. We were early adopters and are now habitual users according to the technology adoption curve.

Running Hansal’s AI regulatory masterclasses has certainly helped! Our next one in June is a closed session for a private company.

When you compare this nationally, nearly a third of UK workers are now using generative AI tools to help them perform their roles better and faster in order to save themselves time, yet companies are largely unaware that their workforce are using them.

As a result, 78% of companies have not yet implemented adequate measures to mitigate AI related risks.

In line with the upcoming Artificial Intelligence Act, we will also begin our AIA Practitioner Programme from March 2024 as open events for individuals as well as bespoke tailored courses for companies looking to upskill their employees.

Hansal’s 2024 accounts are in and we have more than doubled our 2023 turnover with a 216% increase.

The Hansal Way, expansion into Australia, GDPR, IR35, Training, Executive Coaching, Mentoring and the renewing of existing client contracts have all contributed to a fantastic year and the first quarter of 2025 success has continued this great momentum.

AI implementation and regulation is our additional focus for the rest of the year along with trips to America, Europe and India to help bring in further new business.

Thanks so much to all our valued clients, colleagues and friends around the world for your continued support!

Risk Directors take note - as we continue to help our clients navigate and implement effective European Artificial Intelligence Regulation, the UK Government’s AI action plan launched on 13th January 2025 has built in guiding principles from the 2023 white paper which have prioritised a flexible framework with sector specific laws instead of the comprehensive EU AI Act.

It’s guiding principles are based on ensuring that companies who now use AI technology are ensuring there are no risks to human rights, safety, fairness, privacy, societal well being or security.

This means that UK companies should be implementing their own AI company policies and audits on that basis, otherwise they may fall foul of the following regulators - The ICO, OFCOM, the FCA and the CMA. Failure to do so may incur any applicable penalties and fines that come with breaking any individual laws that these regulators have jurisdiction over.

Plus of course, if operating or partnering with AI companies in Europe then the full force of the EU AI Act will apply.
