M&MP Housing are looking for support workers in the Mexborough area ,1 full time ,1 part time or bank position available
In this position the right candidate will be responsible for the care, assistance and safeguarding of young people aged 16+ in their journey into independent living.
This is an opportunity to help make the difference to a young person at a crucial time in their lives and help prepare them for independence and the transition into young adulthood. The young people you will work with can be both male and female and will mainly be care leavers.
The right candidate must be confident and authoritative and have an understanding of working with this age group.
the role involves days , weekends, and overnight shifts (sleeping) on a rolling 4 week rota.
Experience within a similar role would be preferred, however full training will be given to the right applicant.
We would prefer someone with a childcare/youth work qualification or similar. M and MP Housing is committed to ensuring staff have the appropriate training to deliver a high level of support to the young people, consequently initial and ongoing training will be provided. You will also need to be computer literate.

Job Description: The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting and safeguarding young people aged 16+ as they transition into independent living. (No personal care duties required.)
TThis is a chance to make a real difference in a young person's life, helping them transition into independence and young adulthood. The young people you'll work with, both male and female, are primarily care leavers. Many of them have faced significant challenges in their lives and often need to start living independently much earlier than others their age. As a result, some may encounter tough social and emotional struggles, occasionally leading to behavioral issues.

The ideal candidate should be confident, authoritative, and possess a mature attitude, with an understanding of working with this age group. This role requires someone capable of earning the respect of young people, maintaining appropriate behavior within the home, and building strong relationships by acting as a mentor and advisor. You should be someone they can trust and rely on as they transition into adulthood and independence.

It's essential to have a resilient character, be proactive in addressing challenges, and demonstrate confidence, trustworthiness, and approachability.

The role includes both day and sleeping night shifts, covering weekends, bank holidays, holidays, sickness, extra staffing, and appointments, totaling 15 shifts over a 4-week period. We operate on a 4-week rolling rota, so your shifts remain consistent, allowing you to plan your personal life in advance. While experience in a similar role is preferred, full training will be provided to the right candidate. Ideally, we are looking for someone with a childcare or youth work qualification, or similar, who can be seen as a parental figure by the young people.

M and MP Housing Ltd is dedicated to providing staff with the necessary training to offer excellent support to young people, with both initial and ongoing training available. Being computer literate is also required.

Many young people in care often have experienced certain levels of difficulty in their lives and usually have to start living independently much earlier than their peers, as a result of this some of the young people we work with face many challenging social and emotional difficulties which means that at times they can display behavioural concerns.
The right candidate must be confident , and authoritative, have a mature attitude and have an understanding of working with this age group. This role Requires a candidate who is able to command the respect of the young people and ensure suitable behaviour is maintained within the home ensuring that you can develop and maintain relationships with the young people, acting as a mentor and advisor and being someone they can trust and rely on as they make the transition into adulthood and full independence. It is important that you preserve a resilient character, are able to use your initiative to overcome problems and challenging situations and that you are confident, trustworthy and approachable.

the role involves days only working 9.30am-5.30pm and includes , weekends, bank holiday and covering for holidays/sickness/extra staffing and appointments. And is 15 shifts over 4 Weeks.
