While the warmer weather is something to enjoy, it’s important to stay safe in the heat. Keep an eye on weather updates and make sure to take bottled water with you if you’re heading outdoors.

Please also remember to check in on elderly friends, family members, and neighbours — especially those living alone — as they may find it more difficult to stay cool and hydrated during periods of hot weather.

Looking after ourselves is just as important as looking after others. Life can become overwhelming at times, and it’s okay to admit when we’re struggling. Asking for help is never a sign of weakness — it’s a sign of strength, self-awareness, and courage.

Take time to rest, check in on your mental health, and remember that you do not have to carry everything on your own. Sometimes the strongest thing we can do is reach out and let others support us too.
