💫 4 years in business

Today I’m celebrating four years in business — a business that’s allowed me to provide brilliant HR to organisations that want to be great employers, work with clients who’ve become genuine friends, and create a life where I get to be a mum and run a business — something I’ll never take for granted.

To my amazing clients, thank you for your trust, partnership, and continued support. Being invited into your businesses and trusted with your people is something I truly value.

This journey has been full of growth, challenges, juggles, late nights, and a great deal of gratitude. Thank you to everyone who has believed in the vision and supported me along the way.

I’m incredibly grateful for how far I’ve come — and excited for what’s still ahead.

Chartered FCIPD! 🥳🍾

For those outside the HR world, this is the highest level of membership with the CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development), recognising individuals who are thought leaders and have made a significant impact in the people profession.

After more than 20 years in HR, I decided it was time to go for it. I completed my upgrade assessment just five days after welcoming my beautiful daughter into the world. 😴

It wasn’t easy – demonstrating strategic impact, professional expertise, and business influence on minimal sleep while caring for a newborn truly tested my ability to multitask and stay focused under pressure. 😂

The day before the assessment, I nearly cancelled. Self-doubt crept in, and I was scared I might fail. But I’m so glad I pushed through.

If you’re hesitating or holding yourself back, let this be your reminder:
Say yes. Back yourself. You’re more capable than you think. 🙌💫

After taking a much-needed social media break, I’m thrilled to share some exciting developments at HR & Co.

It’s hard to believe it’s been over 3 years since launching HR & Co. What started as a dream has grown year on year—fuelled almost entirely by referrals from our amazing and happy clients. This year, we reached full capacity, a milestone I envisioned when first starting the business.

During our time away from social media, we focused on what matters most: delivering exceptional service to our clients. We’ve invested in strengthening our systems, streamlining operations, and building an incredible team to support our continued growth.

👉 Business owners, are you ready for the new anti-sexual harassment laws?

📅 From the 26th of October, EVERY employer, including those with just a few employees, will need to take proactive and reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace.

One step employers should take is ensuring ALL employees and managers are trained in preventing sexual harassment at work.

⭐ Retained clients, we have got you covered; virtual training is included in all our HR retainers!

For our ad hoc and new clients, this training costs from just £25 + VAT per employee for virtual training.

This training will be one of the ‘reasonable step’ you have taken to prevent sexual harassment.

Where an employer is found to have breached this new duty and not taken ‘reasonable steps,’ employment tribunals have the power to uplift sexual harassment compensation by up to 25%, with compensation awarded in the most serious cases of sexual harassment reaching £50,000, which could cost employers 💰💸

I am excited to be supporting my client in recruiting for an Operations Manager to join the team!

Reporting directly into the Managing Director, in this newly created role you’ll inspire and direct the Operations team while driving both cost and quality efficiencies for the business, optimising operational functions and implementing operational improvements, you will also be happy to roll your sleeves up and process an order as and when needed.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a similar role, ideally with manufacturing / engineering experience, Supply chain and commercial procurement / purchasing experience, who thrives in driving business performance, is a team player, resilient, assertive, open to change, has a collaborative approach to working together and leads by example.

🎉 We made it through August, also known as the longest month for business owners and working parents! We did it 🥂 👏

⚖ August was a super successful month for HR & Co. while also finding the right balance between work, rest, and family life. 😎

⭐ Winning 2 new clients, thanks to recommendations from our existing happy clients 😁
⭐ Successful completion of a restructure project, which will enable the business to achieve its business goals faster, through having the right structure, people and roles
⭐ Implementing Breathe HR for our clients, reducing our clients’ HR admin time so they can concentrate on growing their teams and business!

🌴☀️Today I’m “remote” working from the very beautiful Dominican Republic 🇩🇴

☺️I feel so lucky to have a business that gives me the freedom and flexibility to work from such a beautiful location.

⚖️Watching the sunrise, time with my daughter, rest and relaxation, while still being able to support my amazing clients.

I hate goodbyes 😢

What started as 3-months HR support at sales-i, A SugarCRM Company during their search for a full-time Head of HR turned into an incredible 18-month journey as an interim Head of HR.

During this time, I had the privilege of supporting an international team and played a key role in the exciting acquisition and integration with SugarCRM

It’s been a busy and exciting 18 months, I have been able to work with so many talented individuals and I can’t wait to see the future company success!

Its not good bye forever, as I will still be supporting the business with ad hoc HR support.

Labour’s proposed employment changes include;

➡️Day one right for unfair dismissal
➡️Banning zero hours contracts
➡️Reforming employment status
➡️ Entitlement to statutory sick pay from 1st day of sickness
➡️ Banning fire and rehire process
➡️ Right to switch off
➡️ Increasing wages
➡️ Increasing Tribunal claim time limits

and more changes.....
