Got your FLT licence and looking for something steady? This one’s a genuine route to a permanent job.

We’re recruiting a Forklift Truck and Yard Operative for a site in Coventry (CV7), with immediate starts available. You’ll start on a 13 week temporary assignment, then have the opportunity to go permanent. Once you’re permanent, extra training and qualifications are funded for you, so it’s a role you can build on.

What you’ll need:

Growing your team, or replacing it?

Both create vacancies. But they need different conversations.

If you’re adding shifts for peak, you need extra people. If you’re repeatedly filling the same roles, it’s worth understanding why people aren’t staying.

Each replacement means more time spent recruiting, inducting and helping someone learn the job, while your team covers the gap.

Start with one role or shift where turnover is causing disruption.

Look at when people leave. After the first shift? During the first few weeks? Or further down the line?

Then compare what they expected with what they experienced, including the hours, the work and the support available.

Ask the people who’ve stayed, too. What makes the job work for them?

That gives you and your recruitment partner something specific to act on before you recruit for that vacancy again.
