Introduction:
Are you outgoing and friendly and passionate about your work, if so you could be the ideal caring Personal Assistant that is required to support a lady to access her community. The aim of this Direct Payment is to reduce this lady’s social isolation.
This post is for up to 12 hours a week which will be worked flexibly as agreed in advance, in line with the needs of the employer and the hours may be combined on some occasions to visit somewhere a little further afield as required. This post is funded by the Local Authority through the Direct Payments Scheme and is intended to enable this individual to remain independently living at home with support.
As a Personal Assistant you are required to have your own transport and a full, clean driving licence.

Main Duties:
Support the employer to access social opportunities locally, reducing social isolation.
The employer enjoys visiting local towns such as Aberystwyth and Carmarthen for shopping and browsing and also further afield occasionally.
The employer also enjoys, among other things spa days, visiting quiet restaurants and familiar places, attending the cinema and having fun.
The employer suffers with anxiety and has lost her confidence. Therefore, the main part of your role will be to support her with activities she previously enjoyed and support her to redevelop her confidence. However, there may also be times when the lady does not wish to venture out. At these times, you will be required to engage in activities such as nutritional cooking, gardening, de-cluttering and general talking.
You will also be required to support her to attend appointments. The lady has spinal issues and can struggle with her mobility and balance and may occasionally require the use of a wheelchair.

Person Specification:
Proactive energetic and outgoing, kind nature.
A good sense of humour and bubbly personality.
Caring, honest, responsible and calm nature; treating the person with respect and dignity.
Flexibility around hours of work and main duties of the job.
Reliable with good time keeping,
Able to use own initiative and be self-motivated, ensuring her safety at all time during your working hours.
Able to maintain confidentiality and have an awareness of privacy.
An ability to develop and maintain a supportive relationship providing stability and encouragement when needed.
Good communication and inter-personal skills.
A full driving license and use of a car will be required. Therefore, you must have business use on your insurance.

Benefits:
5.6 weeks’ holiday per year (pro rata).
Sick pay at SSP rate.
Training provided to support you in your role.

Intro.
To help care for two teenage boys aged 15/16 yrs within a small team in their home. Both boys are Autistic and have communication and learning difficulties along with Sensory Processing issues. Both boys have behavioral difficulties and on occasion can become aggressive. The boys have a great sense of fun and humor, are both extremely active and love hugs and physical play.

Main Duties
To help prepare meals.
Personal care; one child doubly incontinent.
Help to use visual timetable and prompts.
Bathing
Long walks (in all weathers!)
Trampolining.
Able to create imaginative play ideas.
Willingness to engage in special interest activities.
Knowledge of PECS & Intensive Interaction would be beneficial or a willingness to learn in this regard.
To help keep the boys environment clean and tidy.

Personal Specification
Patient and caring attitude. Able to deal calmly with stressful situations.
Physically fit.
Able to work within a small team.
Self-motivated.
Able to look at the funny side of things.
Must be flexible with hours.
Car driver preferable as location is not close to public transport.

Introduction:

A committed, caring and flexible Personal Assistant is required to support a young man with his independence, and daily living skills. • Support the employer in gaining skills and independence in preparing a cooking meals

• Support the employer to ensure that appliances are used safely and meals are thoroughly cooked

To support the employer to safely access his local and wider community:

• To support the employer with his personal safety when out within the community as the employer’s knowledge of hazards is limited.

Support the employer to attend all health appointments, and to maintain good health:
• Support the employer with his organisational skills

• Provide verbal prompts to take prescribed medication

• To be aware that the employer suffers allergic reactions to wound coverings, especially Elastoplast type plasters. Advice must be sought from family or pharmacist if dressings need to be applied.

Support the employer to budget and manage his finances:

• To support with all aspects of budgeting including meal planning, transport, household bills and leisure

• To ensure that the employer is protected form the risk of being vulnerable to financial exploitation.
