Bank Holiday Monday is nearly here. Which means our teams are taking a well-earned day off. (They've earned it.)

Some of our branches will be closed, but if you've got an urgent job to fill or need staff in a hurry, we've still got you covered.

Just call your usual branch number and we'll put you through to someone who can help. 📞

Then we'll be back, fully caffeinated and back to business as usual on Tuesday 26th August.

Have a brilliant Bank Holiday! ☀️

Found a construction job you fancy? Before you fire off the CV, do a bit of digging.

Who are they? What do they actually do? What projects are they working on? What’s their reputation like? And, more importantly, can you see yourself working there?

A few minutes of research can make a big difference - especially when it comes to the interview. “I saw you’re working on…” is a much better answer than “Erm… I had a look at your website.”

At gap construction, we help people find their next role across the construction industry, and we want to see you land somewhere that’s right for you.

We’ve put together some straightforward advice on researching a company before you apply.

Give it a read before your next application 👇

🚨 Looking for work? Please be aware of recruitment scams.

Scammers can create fake websites, social media profiles and job adverts that look like genuine recruitment opportunities.

Knowing what to look out for can help you stay safe when searching for work.

🚩 Red flags can include:
• Someone claiming to be a recruiter from gap construction using an unfamiliar or personal social media profile
• A website using our logo or branding but with an unusual or unfamiliar web address
• A job advert asking you to pay money upfront
• Requests for personal or financial information that don't feel right
• Someone asking you to move the conversation to WhatsApp or another number you don't recognise

If something feels wrong, stop before you respond.

❌ Don't send money
❌ Don't share sensitive personal information
❌ Don't click suspicious links

If you've seen a job, profile, website or message claiming to be from gap construction and you’re not sure it’s genuine, contact your local gap construction branch or your usual contact before doing anything else.

We’re happy to help you check.

If you believe you have been affected by a recruitment scam, report it to the relevant platform and the appropriate authorities. If you've sent money, contact your bank as soon as possible, as they may be able to help.

Stay alert, trust your instincts and, if you're unsure, check with us first.
