**World Mental Health Day – 10th October**

Professional drivers spend countless hours on the road, but driving is only part of the job.

Long hours, time spent alone, waiting at depots and working away from home can all take a toll on mental wellbeing.

We all know how important daily vehicle checks are. Tyres, lights, mirrors and loads are regularly inspected to keep journeys safe. But how often do we take a moment to check in on ourselves?

Ahead of World Mental Health Day tomorrow, we're reminding drivers, employers and everyone working in the transport industry that mental health deserves just as much attention as physical safety.

Whether it's checking in with a colleague, having a conversation or simply taking time for yourself, small actions can make a real difference.

**Remember, looking after your mental health isn't a sign of weakness. It's an important part of staying safe, healthy and at your best.**

Autumn may be one of the UK's most beautiful seasons, but it can also be one of the most challenging for drivers.

In fact, the AA reports that road crashes increase by 23% during autumn compared to summer, as wet weather, darker evenings
and low sun affect driving conditions.

From slippery leaves and standing water to morning fog and frost, drivers face a range of seasonal hazards.

Whether you're driving a car, van or HGV, taking a few extra precautions can help keep you, your vehicle and other road users safe.
