Are you a graduate looking to launch your career in teaching?

Would you be attracted by a practical, school-based teacher training programme where you train as you teach?

We are working with a thriving Academy cluster in Swindon who are part of a multi-academy trust. They service a diverse, genuinely comprehensive community and have been demonstrating success in improving attainment and adding value to their students over the last few years.

An excellent school-based programme

School-based teacher training offers the opportunity to train as you teach. It is a practical classroom-based pathway where you are part of a school staff and the majority of your training year is classroom-based, compared to the higher classroom time that you would get at a traditional university-based PGCE.

This is an opportunity to train in an Ofsted good school, with excellent leadership who have an established pathway for developing their own teachers. You will be encouraged to get into the classroom early in your programme and will benefit from a structured programme of mentoring, observed teaching, training and development with regular time each month at the university-affiliated to the programme. At end of the year, you will be awarded a PGCE from that University.

This is an unsalaried training pathway. You can access bursaries dependent on the subject up to a maximum of £30,000 and also student finance to fund your fees and living costs.

We are looking for graduates who can demonstrate the following:

A passion for pursuing a career in teaching and making a difference to young people
a minimum 2:1 degree
good A Levels and GCSE's
willingness to fund themselves through this training year
