SENSORY LOSS SUPPORT WORKER

Reed Care & Support are recruiting for Support Workers to join our client based in Bath on a permanent basis. This role will be supporting residents with sensory loss.

Your role will be taking the residents out into the community on a 1:1 basis and supporting them in their daily routine. You will be taking them to appointments, social commitments, and accompany them to places like the cinema and other fun activities. There is even an opportunity to go on holiday with them!

There are both Full Time and Part Time opportunities available, both of which will be on a rota basis. This will include days, evenings, weekends and 2 – 4 sleep-ins per month.

My client has a firm belief in being as flexible as possible to accommodate any commitments that employees may have out of work. You will work every other weekend on a rota basis. The hourly rate for this position is £8.21 per hour.

What are we looking for?

Essential:

- Experience working in care.
- An interest in working with people with sensory loss.
- NVQ/Diploma Level 3 in care or equivalent (or the ability and commitment to work
towards achieving within 12 months)

Desirable:

- Full/Clean Driving Licence.
- Awareness of deaf issues and the potential impact on individuals.
- Ability to work independently, this could involve taking sole responsibility for a service
or work during shift.

Reed Care & Support are recruiting for an exciting new opportunity in a small home in a beautiful location in Midsomer Norton. Having visited the home myself I found the home to be warm and homely with a positive emphasis on promoting the independence of the 4 residents that live there.

In your role as Complex Needs Support worker, you will be supporting one of the residents on a 2:1 basis who has complex needs and autism. He benefits from having a dedicated team that work with him on a daily basis to fulfil his needs and support his independence.

There are both Full Time and Part Time roles available on a flexible rota basis between the hours of 07:00am – 10:00pm. The hourly rate for this role is £9.68 per hour.

What are we looking for?
Essential:
• Experience in supporting complex needs.
• Confident in dealing with challenging behaviour and de-escalation.
• Full/clean driving licence and access to a car due to location and supporting resident in accessing the community.

Desirable:
• NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care

REED Care & Support are working with a fantastic client on an exciting Support Worker position. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to become a core part service users lives, and use their skills and experience to promote independence. The salary for this role is £16,009 per annum. Both Full Time and Part Time is available.

This role is based near the heart of Bath near public transport connections. If you are a driver that would be an excellent advantage, however it is not essential for the role.

In your role as Support Worker, you will be working with service users who have sensory loss. You will be taking them out in the community on a daily basis and supporting them in their daily routine. As part of your role you will be supporting the service users at appointments, social events and shopping. You will help them with managing finances and ensure you promote independence. There is also opportunity to accompany them on holidays.

Key Responsibilities

To liaise with Local Authorities regarding potential Rent levels and individual Housing Benefit claims.
To monitor progress of claims and contacts with Local Authorities.
Monitor and effectively manage tenant rent arrears via telephone, email and letter.
The timely and accurate production of rental invoices and void requisitions for care providers.
Be responsible for the monitoring, authorisation and chasing of invoices for service charges, rental income and void invoices, in turn, ensures their collection and any payments are processed in line with procedure.
Ensuring contractual arrangements are adhered to, accurate and timely recording and reconciliation of rent accounts.
Requirements

Good numerical skills and a keen eye for detail
Good communication, having the confidence to interact effectively face to face, and via phone and email
Ability to work reliably and be self-motivated
IT literate, with knowledge of Excel etc.
Housing experience and the ability to converse on housing Issues
Awareness of needs of tenants with physical and learning disabilities
Awareness of needs of tenants with a learning disability
