🏠 A major shift for social housing in England.

The government has announced the first wave of a £10 billion investment to deliver around 70,000 new affordable homes, with around 60% set to be for social rent. It's one of the biggest commitments to social housing in years and aims to tackle the growing housing shortage across England.

For those of us working in social housing recruitment, this isn't just about new homes - it's about the people who'll be needed to deliver them. From housing officers and surveyors to repairs, compliance and asset management professionals, the sector will need skilled people at every stage.

A positive step forward, but one that also raises important conversations around funding, delivery capacity and the future of council housebuilding.

Yesterday we swapped the office for a boat and spent the afternoon cruising around Bristol, eating pizza, enjoying a few drinks and celebrating the brilliant team behind it all.
