At GDS we believe finding and keeping the right talent is key to business success.

Today we are introducing one of our Masters of Ceremony Balve Bains. He started working for GDS in August 2021 and is the newest event host at GDS. Before this, he was one of the finalists for the 'New Voices' competition at BBC Radio Lancashire where he got to present on-air.

You may have seen him appear as an extra in Hollyoaks, Coronation Street, and Emmerdale, or featuring in commercials for brands such as McDonald's, Adidas, and Erdinger Beer where he got to meet Jürgen Klopp - as a massive Liverpool fan, he was very excited!

Balve is also an adrenaline ju**ie - he has run a marathon, skydived, bungee jumped, and drove a Formula 3 car!

Meet Abdul Mereh our Insight Manager. Abdul is responsible for monitoring the latest trends in the industries for each of our events, he also approves all of our delegate and sponsor profiles to make sure that their projects and objectives match.

Abdul joined in Jan 2018 as a Data Executive in the Marketing team, helping with Salesforce data quality management before joining the Insights team in June 2019. Before relocating to Bristol to join GDS, Abdul studied Accounting and Finance at Plymouth.

‘I love working at GDS because the people that you get to work with are brilliant, insightful and helpful and the opportunities you have here to learn, and grow are second to none.’

Abdul grew up in London and use to help design the kitchen sets in EastEnders and even ended up becoming an extra in a few episodes! 🎬
