Green Bins changes - important!

Do you know that Stockport Council are changing Green waste collections from 1st April? Only food waste will be collected unless you apply for a garden waste permit of £59 for 1 year for 1 bin. They say allow 21 days for the permit to arrive.

This is a prompt in case you were unaware of the need to apply online, the council are not issuing letters!

We are recruiting!
Catherine and Jonathan are looking for “an extra pair of hands” to work with us this springtime. We need someone to join our small team on a flexible, part-time basis to help with our lawn work. This is likely to be from the middle of March to May.
Applicants should ideally live local to us in an SK postcode.

Always good to bump into a customer when out walking the dog. Especially when they show you pictures of their lawn in tip top condition.

Renovated this lawn in 2020. Used to be a tennis court. 🎾🎾

Although a well cared for lawn, you can see areas that have a pink or copper tinge to them. With the increase in humidity comes the potential for fungal disease. This lawn was clearly due its next fertiliser treatment.

Even good looking and healthy lawns are beginning to show signs of dry patch because of the lack of rain.

If areas of your lawn turn a darker green or grey. If the grass is wirey and doesn't spring back when you step on it, then it needs water.

You've watched paint dry, and now you can watch (for free) me mowing a lawn. I've added some fake boogie music just to make things worse. Anyway, good news, it does end. Guest appearance, Catherine.

The point of this is really to show you what can be done to improve a lawn that struggles, to even grow in this case (see https://fb.watch/5YJRe-xdR3/ ). The customer was really happy with the results. Good to see the stripes of course. Regular mowing at the right height is probably the most important thing you can do for your lawn.

P.S. We're only giving this lawn its 2nd cut because we've done work on it. We don't mow lawns generally. We recommend www.greenscapes-gardening.co.uk if you need regular mowing.

With the warmer, wet weather and increase in humidity it was inevitable that we'd see our first case of Red Thread fungal disease sooner rather than later. It only takes a few hours to show itself on a lawn when the conditions allow.
