💭 The equine industry relies on a vast spectrum of talent, and needs more than riders and grooms.

Behind every successful equestrian brand, event, retailer, manufacturer, college, and organisation are professionals driving sales, marketing, operations, customer service and innovation.

The future of our industry depends on attracting talented people into commercial careers that help equestrian businesses grow.

At Equine Careers, we’re proud to support both employers and candidates by showcasing the wide range of professional opportunities available within the equine sector.

Because a career in horses can mean far more than working outside.

In recent years the most common but hardest role to fill would be roles in E commerce - they require a certain set of IT and Tech based skills, which don't always marry with someone with an understanding of horses and the terminology we use.
So my best advice - gain those skills and become really useful to the industry.

We would love to hear from you if you have an unusual role in the Equine Industry. Tell us all about it ?

A big welcome to all our new followers

If you are new here, thank you for joining us. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself (Emma) and explain a bit about what we do and how we started.

Here at Equine Careers we launched in 2009 - swiftly winning a BETA International Innovation Award in 2010🏆

Equine Careers is now the UK's #1 website dedicated to office and commercial vacancies in the equine industry. We've got a client list of over 700 in our little black book. We are well renowned for the following services ;

▶️Jobs Board
▶️Recruitment
▶️Sales Agents Database
▶️Guest speaker at Colleges and Universities
▶️Careers Coaching
▶️CV Services
▶️Education page - listing study options

❓Where did the idea of Equine Careers come from ?

At School myself the careers advice I was offered was severely lacking, once you mentioned horses - people did not know what to offer you.
After working on the practical side (Groom for Derek Ricketts and on a Point to Point yard) I completed a business studies degree before securing a role as Sales & Marketing Manager for an equestrian surfacing company. Here I was the first point of contact and got involved in all areas of the business. We supplied the surface for Your Horse Live and I got to meet loads of famous people when I did site visits and we installed new surfaces and facilities.
I was made redundant from this role in 2008 so had time on my hands, I wanted a similar job but where to find it ? So from here the idea of Equine Careers was born - a jobs board for office and commercial roles.
So with all the contacts I had made in my previous role I set about getting a website built and the rest is history.

❓What is the busiest part of my day ?

That would be conducting careers coaching sessions, uploading jobs and interviewing / shortlisting for clients.

❓Whats the best piece of advice I can offer people planning a career in the Industry ?

Do the leg work, get to know people, network, work at events, get involved, volunteer and get stuck in - no matter that that looks like. Gain experience and been keen to learn and work your way up. Don't rely on social media. Face to face is key.

✅So there you go, we can help in many ways - no matter what stage you're at in your career.

Our jobs board is updated daily - find your future.

If your feeling stuck and want to discuss your options with an industry expert then you are welcome to book a 1-2-1 careers coaching session with Emma.

Please take a tour of our website to familiarize all we have to offer - you can sign up for job alerts too.
