Operational Manager
CNC/Saw/Works Fabrications –
Our client is looking for a Operational Manager who may be looking for that next step into Management. This role will complement their experience and help lead the businesses quality standards higher.
Responsibilities
Continuous improvement initiatives and ensure standards are achieved. Ensure Health & Safety is adhered to by all staff and oneself. From NPI requirements to long term client commitments, the OM role is key to the highest calibre of product reaching their clients. It will also play a key part in ensuring a quality culture is respected and believed in as part of a specialist engineering function and you will represent the business in management decisions and customer liaison. Record holding is essential, organisational skills and planning is essential. Regular Tool Box Talks and training to be given to staff in the works department.
About the business –
Using the latest technology and production techniques to provide client solutions. Their knowledge and equipment capabilities, with a complete line of all construction products (From insulation, building boards, cladding and engineering), mean they can work in partnership with customers from the design and development of their products, to full batch manufacturing, working closely with the team.
Main Role Responsibilities would include–
o Health & Safety Compliance
· Quality Control Compliance. Follow all business Quality control measures and ensure this is followed and maintained throughout the business.
o Works/Warehouse and Transport Management (Overseeing the Managers in each Department)
· Drive a quality culture within the manufacturing and distribution function
· Support Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
· Lead Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities.
· Coordinate and conduct internal assessments / audits
· Develop in-process, operator-led control plans to drive quality awareness.
· Regularly report performance, deviations, and trends via monthly Quality meeting
· Establish and maintain an escalation report according to the quality strategy
· Ensure non-conformances of work products, processes, and project activities are identified, recorded, communicated to interested parties - tracked, resolved, and further prevented.
· Excellent knowledge of quality tools and methods.
· Conduct key supplier audits
· Monitor safe launch and firewall activity to aid process improvement
· Manage and challenge customer scorecards
· Review all quality debit notes in a timely fashion
o Tool Box Talks to staff on a daily basis with key drivers and daily works schedule
o Keep Training records up to date and maintain a clear paperwork trail for all processes.
o Coach, Lead and manage staff to ensure the best output for the business, keeping expenditure to a minimum.

- Your Skills and Abilities –
· A minimum of 3years’ experience in a quality manufacturing role
· Excellent communication skills at all levels, with the ability to interface effectively with internal / external customers.
· Demonstrate problem solving skills.
· Auditor qualifications: audit procedure, negotiation, conflict management.
· Working knowledge of ISO9001 would be desirable
· Knowledge of advanced manufacturing processes
· Customer interface skills.
· Ability to read and interpret customer drawings with GD&T knowledge.
· CNC and saw knowledge is key.
· High level of numerical and analytical ability.
· Competent in all aspects of Microsoft Office.
· Professional, articulate manager
· Team Player self-motivated.
· Assertive with a dynamic positive “can do” attitude
· Manufacturing background preferred (Joinery etc)
· Works on own initiative and leads by example
· Health & Safety
· Transport knowledge preferred
Salary, Benefit and Hours –
· Salary DOE
· 40 hours per week. Hours to be agreed.
· Monthly Bonus incentives based on Branch Sales and Operational performance.
