Prior to 2010 Sustain UK Ltd was known as Top Care West Midlands Ltd. and had been in operation since 1991. Sustain (UK) Ltd was formed in 2009 by Pauline Hughes (nee Joyce) and John Hughes as a ‘Not for Profit Company.’ (No. 7084201) This was in response to a growing need for quality social housing related support and accommodation for vulnerable homeless people in the West Midlands. s’ vision was that “Vulnerable/homeless people deserve the opportunity to live in housing of a decent standard and that a salaried, committed and trained workforce could be recruited locally that shared this vision”

As of April 2017 we have a total of 355 properties with 97 housing providers, covering approximately 1,900 residents. These numbers are growing as we aspire to vastly reduce the amount of vulnerable people in society. Therefore, we are looking to expand so that we can support as many people as possible. As of December 2015, our board has been strengthened with the addition of our Non-Executive directors. Between them they have considerable board level experience in the sector and also professional knowledge and experience in disciplines that will assist the board development.

We provide accommodation that endeavours to offer a warm and relaxing environment that is achieved by staff and tenants working together. The support team is dedicated to offering each tenant freedom of choice, promoting independence and offering friendly confidential advice. We also believe in, and actively promote; empathy, understanding, unconditional positive regard and respect for all.
