CAD Operator Required

Our client in Redditch is a leading manufacturer of laser cut fabrications, folded & welded fabrications & assemblies for industries including: Automotive, Constructional and Commercial Vehicle Manufacturers, Electrical and Gas Industry, Shopfitting, Display, Security. They are seeking an experienced CAD Operator to work within their CAD department.

Job role:
• Main role will be to produce Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings for laser cutting and maintaining the CAD library
• Have good communication skills, both written and verbal and be able to liaise with customers with regards to drawings issues, whilst keeping the Works Manager informed of any problems which may prevent a job being processed on time
• Liaise with the Quality Manager regarding drawings dimensions etc.
• Be able to work to tight deadlines when necessary

Duties:
• To produce 2D drawings for the laser cutting machine(s)
• Liaise with the Laser Operator and Works Manager regarding materials held in stock
• To inform the Works Manager of any material shortfalls that will prevent a job being run
• To work out the flat packing developments in conjunction with the Works manager as necessary
• Process the job card in accordance with working procedures
• Upload drawings onto internal operating systems when necessary
• Ensure security of CAD files and avoidance of misfiles or corruptions of data
• Maintain and backup the CAD Library in the CAD Manager’s absence

Working conditions:
The working week is 39 hours Monday to Friday.
Working times are 07:30 to 16:30 Monday to Thursday and 07:30 to 12:30 on a Friday.
The CAD Operator may be required to work overtime, with paid compensation.

Salary:
Negotiable depending on experience.

Our client in Solihull is the UK's leading manufacturer of liquid waste tankers, specialist vehicles, jetting equipment, winter maintenance, effluent handling, gully emptying, gritters and street cleaning equipment amongst other things.

Due to increased workloads they are currently seeking an experienced Fitter/Welder to join their team with a view to long term employment and career progression.

The role involves: -
• Working in the main production area
• Pipe welding in both mild steel and stainless steel
• Fabrication
• Chassis fitting
• Maintaining a clean and organised work area
• Adhering and working to Health and Safety regulations and full training will be given to the right individual.

Requirements: -
• Background working in a production environment particularly body building will be an advantage
• Forklift Truck and overhead crane licence an advantage
• Mild steel and stainless steel mig welding experience
• Knowledge in both light and heavy gauge welding is also required along with experience of pipe welding would be advantageous
• Ability to read drawings
• Ability to work under own initiative
• Mechanically minded

For an initial 13 week period you will be working through our agency for the advertised pay rate. After this successful period, the package will likely be £10-£11 per hour dependant on skills and experience with the ability to progress to £13.50 per hour.

Own transport will be advantageous due to the location.

Our client is a factory based in Birmingham who manufacture lighting and control equipment for potentially explosive atmospheres. They are currently searching for an experienced person who can assist the Production Manager with the administration of the production department.

The Role:

• To ensure that the export warehousing and procurement operations meet the required standards of cost, delivery performance and customer satisfaction.
• To have responsibility for the administration and operation of the procurement function and export warehouse operation.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the material and service procurement operation.
• Identification of material requirements and placement of purchase orders with suppliers and expediting when necessary.
• Arrangement of purchased services when needed.
• Regularly review of current and outstanding purchasing orders.
• Identification of material sources and new suppliers when needed and general up keep and operation of the purchasing function and database all within the requirements of the quality system. This is including the supplier database.
• Continual cross checking of supplier prices to ensure low stock values.
• Liaison with other departments within the business for the effective and timely movement of materials internally and externally.
• High level of communication to keep all informed of purchasing and expediting issues.
• To review the stock levels and improve stock turns.
• To create, review and monitor Production Works Orders and communicate with production. Control and regular monitoring of the sub-contracting system.
• Ensure adherence to all necessary health and safety and quality system requirements. Recording of related data on IT system, and generation of all appropriate documentation.
• Administration functions within Operations department when required.

International Freight Forwarder Required

Our client is a large Exhibition Logistics company based on site near The National Exhibition Centre near Birmingham. They are currently looking for a highly ambitious International Freight Forwarder/International Project Coordinator to help develop a specialist department within a market leading Exhibition Logistics company.

The successful candidate will need to display competency in the role of international freight forwarding, ideally in air, road and ocean. The candidate will need to display experience of written sales skills and an ability to plan and implement tailored logistics plans. The ideal person needs to be self-motivated and results driven.

Essential requirements:

2 years’ experience of working in air or ocean operations environment within the logistics supply chain, experience of interacting vertically within an organisation, some experience of writing business proposals, logistics/supply chain knowledge, excellent time management, good organisational skills, good data interpretation skills, good PC skills (Microsoft Office Suite) excellent presentation skills, excellent written communication skills, good attention to detail, team player, proactive approach, ability to act on own initiative, self-motivated, ability to develop relationships at all levels internally and externally, excellent verbal communication skills, ability to accurately and effectively interpret communications, ability to put people at ease. Must have GCSE (A to C) in English, Maths & Science and a full driving licence.

Preferred requirements:

Experience of working within a sales team within a 3PL environment, experience of working within project forwarding as well as demonstrate project management ability, keeping up to date with latest trends and issues within the Logistics industry, logistics operational experience, logistics design experience and negotiation skills.
