Job description

WMHC are recruiting for a housing support worker to join our existing team. Applicants must be able to do the following:

Providing Support to Vulnerable Adults.

working with our service users in accordance with their support plans
creating and reviewing support plans for all our users
identifying and recommending relevant support services
maintaining and developing relationships with our service users daily
being able to problem solve and think on your feet whilst under pressure.
supporting service users to maintain their tenancies.
Managing Properties:

making sure that the properties environment is to a high standard of living for the service users.
assisting service users with cleaning in the properties to ensure hygiene levels are to a high standard with all our users.
ensuring that all properties are secure and safe for our service users by physically checking keys, locks & doors.
being able to identify maintenance work that needs to be carried out and liaising with management to ensure that properties are maintained to a high standard.
ensuring that all policies and procedures are being followed by yourself and the service users.
collecting service charge from service users and handling cash
ensuring that new tenants are provided with all relevant items and rooms are of good standards & also ensuring that rooms are ready & clean for new clients when clients move on
carrying out weekly health and safety checks and ensuring the checks are done to a high standard.
Office Work:

writing logs daily on your interactions with tenants regarding support
completing and updating support sessions with tenants
keeping record of service charge collections to identify users who are in arrears.
keeping fire, health & safety check logs for all your properties
being able to do basic paperwork such as making folders for new clients, documenting them correctly, and organizing them in order.
completing starter packs with new tenants and being able to explain each document to them.
Ensuring the tenant is in receipt of benefits.
Skill Set:

being able to communicate professionally.
have good reading and writing skills.
being able to work efficiently under pressure.
having exceptional organization skills
being reliable and trustworthy
being able to manage time effectively.
having excellent knowledge of using computers i.e., Ms. word Ms. PowerPoint and Ms. Excel
- Applicants must have use of their own vehicle with no more than 6 points on driving license

· Minimum 1 Year experience in Support Work.

Working average of 37.5 Hours Per Week between the hours of 9:30-5:30.
Applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Job description

To provide a housing management and support service to vulnerable adults living in supported accommodation. To be aware of the housing support and wellbeing needs of individual tenants and ensure these needs are met by obtaining help from appropriate agencies, to enable tenants to maintain independent living.

Responsibilities:

Supporting individuals to access housing and other community services
Supporting tenants to live independently in supported living.
Encourage individuals to do daily activities and teach them daily living skills.
Helping individuals to understand housing benefits available to them
Ensuring residents live in a safe and secure environment
Carrying out health and safety assessments
Doing risk assessments with individuals
Fire risk assessment in each house
Doing administrative tasks to support your work
Requirements:

· You MUST have valid drivers license and must have your own vehicle with valid insurance,

· You are required to have at least minimum 1-year experience in Support Work.

· You MUST hold an Enhanced DBS certificate in date. You can however apply for a DBS through WMHC if you are successful with the interview stage.
