10 years ago, Matt Lowdon and I started Newton Colmore — and what a journey it’s been!
From the ups and downs of recruitment to watching each other grow, it’s been incredible to witness milestones both professionally and personally.
I’ve seen Matt buy a house, get engaged, married, and welcome his son into the world. For myself, I’ve also bought a house and gotten engaged. These moments remind us that our personal stories are just as important as our professional ones.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has worked with us over the last decade—thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your collaboration and trust have shaped our business. We’re also grateful for the invaluable advice we’ve received over the years, which has helped us grow and evolve.
What a decade it’s been!
The recruitment market has changed dramatically since we started. In my first six years before Newton Colmore, market shifts were rare. But since launching, we’ve faced major events almost every year—Brexit, Donald Trump, Covid, the mini-budget, and everything in between.
We started with an IKEA table in a windowless office with no air conditioning. Now, we’re proud to work in a space that keeps us cool and inspired. We’ve helped students from Imperial College London begin their careers, supported startups with key hires, and contributed to the development of life-saving and life-changing technologies.
Here’s to the next 10 years!
Some people said we wouldn’t last six months—yet here we are. We’re excited to keep growing, learning, and making an impact.
And, in the spirit of embracing the unexpected, the robot graphics we’re known for aren’t quite ready—but here’s a mockup for now. Stay tuned!
