Vacancy: Maintenance/Service Engineer

Salary: £35,000 per annum
We are looking for a highly versatile, professional and self-motivated individual, who will be part of a small engineering team involved in a dynamic and varied role helping to support the smooth running of one of our client facilities.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent maintenance and fault-finding skills. They must demonstrate flexibility with a hands-on approach and a can-do attitude dealing with a wide variety of tasks.
The Role:
Working as a member of the Engineering Team, the successful candidate will provide multi-skilled engineering and maintenance cover across the entire production facility.
Duties will include: -
• To take a full and active role in the operation of the Engineering Department.
• ·An experienced multi-skilled engineer with an electrical bias
• To take an active role in promoting good Health & Safety practices within the department and site.
• To assist with the implementation of all planned preventative maintenance activities.
• To be pro-active in seeking remedies to minimise any down time which may affect the operation of the production facility.
• To follow safe systems of work for engineering activities.
• Liaise with the Production team to ensure any required maintenance or emergency repairs minimise disruption whilst ensuring work is carried out to the highest standards.
• Take a pro-active role in daily, weekly or monthly machinery checks and repairs.
• Deal with day-to-day housekeeping issues across the business covering electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Adhere to strictest confidentiality standards with regards to all company financial and salary matters.
• Cover shifts day or night when engineers are on holiday, sick or on training courses.
• Attend call outs for serious breakdowns if required.
• To assist with the training of engineering staff.
• To assist with the completion of health, safety and environmental audits at all plants and ensure completion of recommendations to an acceptable standard.
• To assist with risk assessments, COSHH manual and update regularly as required.
• To communicate effectively with all managers, supervisors and colleagues, as necessary, and to work the hours necessary to effectively discharge your duties and responsibilities.
• To enforce and carry out all tasks to comply with Company Policy on Health & Safety and COSHH requirements.
• To maintain such H&S records that may be required to comply with regulations and relevant policies.
• To comply with Company Policies and Terms & Conditions of Employment and follow laid down Company procedures.
• To ensure that work areas are maintained in a clean, tidy and safe condition at all times.
• To attend training courses as required and foster and maintain good working relations throughout the Company.
• To complete necessary continued personal development.
• To maintain confidentiality of Company business.
• Other Ad hoc duties as required.
