Business Development Manager
Salary - £26,000 - £30,000 (dependent on experience) plus £6k bonus
The charity provides food aid to children and families around the world. We provide family food packs and meals for kids in school so that they can not only get a meal but also an education.
Last year we served millions of meals across our programmes in Sudan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Yemen, Malawi, Ethiopia and Turkey.
This year we aim to double that.
The Role
Your role will support the work of the Head of Fundraising build relationships and raise funds to enable the charity to fulfil their charitable mission and objectives.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent the charity and build relationships externally. You will need to act with gravitas and be able to manage conflicting priorities in an often fast-paced environment. This role would suit someone adaptable and fast thinking, as well as highly organised.
This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with our Head of Fundraising. You will be responsible for ensuring that our work is strategically aligned and is carried out within appropriate timeframes. No two days are the same, and there is scope to get involved in a variety of existing and new fundraising activities as required by the Head of Fundraising.
Responsibilities:
o Engagement with existing and new donors and supporters of the charity He/she will focus on strengthening relationships with current donors and supporters, recruiting new donors, building upon the bedrock of existing support within the Muslim community in the UK.
o Developing a varied portfolio of partners, ranging from individual donors to other trusts, foundations and commercial organisations. You'll represent us at face-to-face meetings and networking events to establish new and maintain long term relationships.
o increasing awareness about Charity Right in new areas through engagement with individuals and organisations.
o Recruiting and managing a team of volunteers/fundraisers
About you:
o Minimum of 3 years of relationship building experience, with a proven record of success in a results-oriented environment, you're ready to make the impact we need.
o Excellent project and event management skills.
o Exceptional interpersonal and networking skills and will be confident establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals and organisations.
o A natural collaborator and at your best in a team, you enjoy working with internal colleagues and external contacts to achieve shared goals.
o Organised and flexible in approach, you're able to use your initiative in order to meet deadlines and targets.
o Driven, pro-active and tenacious, you're keen to seek out new opportunities, and will have great influencing and negotiation skills.
o Ability to manage time effectively, prioritise workload, plan ahead and achieve deadlines.
o Sensitivity to differences in culture and nationality with the ability to work closely with colleagues and volunteers.
o Adaptable and flexible to changing circumstances and needs of the role, including flexibility in working hours.
o Able to work under pressure, meeting key project and reporting deadlines.
