Are you brilliantly organised, great with people, and the kind of person who quietly keeps everything (and everyone) on track?

Are you the sort of person who gets a small thrill from a perfectly colour‑coded diary?

Do you secretly enjoy solving problems people didn’t even know they had yet?

👉If yes, this role could be perfect for you - we're hiring a Personal Assistant for our Divisional Leads in Medicine.

This is a full time, permanent role. Salary: £28,392 - £31,157 p.a.

You’ll sit right at the heart of our division, keeping everything running smoothly, even when the days are busy (and sometimes beautifully chaotic). You’ll be the person who notices what needs doing before anyone else asks… and who brings a calm, positive presence.

Why join us:
You’ll be joining a team that genuinely cares about one another, works with purpose and compassion, and values someone who brings both heart and efficiency to the role.

🌟 Celebrating Biomedical Science Day - 4 June 2026🌟 Did you know that around 80% of treatment decisions rely on laboratory results?

Our Biomedical Scientist colleagues play a vital role in ensuring patients receive accurate, timely diagnoses and care. Working behind the scenes, their impact is felt across the entire hospital.

Meet Guy who shares how he got into Biomedical Science, and what he enjoys most about his role -

🔬 With a natural talent for biology and chemistry, Guy knew early on he wanted to combine his strengths and use them to help people. After completing A-Levels in biology, chemistry and physics, Guy went on to study a BSc in Applied Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, followed by an MSc in Medical Microbiology.

After a period of unemployment, Guy’s determination paid off when he joined the RUH as a Medical Laboratory Assistant. From there, he worked his way up, becoming an Associate Biomedical Practitioner, completing additional study to meet the requirements for a training post, and eventually qualifying as a Biomedical Scientist.

Today, nearly 14 years on, Guy is a Band 6 Specialist Biomedical Scientist in Biochemistry - and a valued part of our team.

Guy takes real pride in his work, especially in solving complex challenges and helping deliver the best outcomes for patients. Even when the recognition is rare, every ‘thank you’ reminds him why he chose this career.

“Being able to use my skills in science to help people - that’s what makes it all worthwhile.”

Join us in celebrating Guy and all our incredible Biomedical Scientists this 🧬💙
