Experience cutting steel (band saws, plasma, etc.)
Installation & alignment of key components (e.g. hull penetrations, seating, casings)

3 on / 4 off days
Locals: £24.12 PAYE | Non-locals: £32.12 PAYE
Nights
Locals: £26.73 PAYE | Non-locals: £34.73 PAYE

Minimum 37 hours per week
Overtime available (not guaranteed)
33 days holiday incl. bank holidays
Additional:
Pre-screen call & Security Clearance required before starting

🔧 What you’ll be doing
As a Mobile Crane Operator, you’ll be responsible for:
Safely lifting, moving and positioning loads
Operating mobile and overhead cranes in line with project requirements
Working in confined spaces when required
Following strict Health & Safety procedures and maintaining safe working practices
Reading and interpreting job specifications
Selecting and preparing the correct materials, consumables and equipment
Carrying out cleaning and applying temporary protection where required
Inspecting completed work to ensure it meets the required standards
What we’re looking for
You’ll need:
Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Crane Operator
Valid, in-date certification from an accredited body, such as NPORS, ECITB or equivalent
Certification covering Mobile & Overhead Crane operations
Proven experience operating mobile cranes
Relevant training and qualifications
A strong commitment to Health & Safety
Flexibility to work night shifts when required
Shifts & clearance
The role will initially operate on a shift pattern, with flexibility required for nights.
If moving onto night shifts, you’ll first complete one week on day shifts to allow for risk assessment.
Due to the nature of the project, you must also be willing to obtain full SC clearance before starting. Clearance is expected to take approximately 6–8 weeks.
Pre-employment and random drug testing may also be required.
PAYE RATES

Local: £21.08/hr
Non Local:£29.08/hr
Nights
Local:£23.37/hr
Non Local: £31.37/hr

Job Description:
• Welding different materials (carbon & stainless steel & aluminium)
• Welding using different welding processes i.e., Manual Metal Arc, Metal Active Gas, Metal Inert Gas, Automatic & Semi-Automatic Machine Welding (Submerged – Arc & KAT) & Resistance Welding (Stud Welding)
• Welding butts and fillets to a high standard
• Main process – FCAW / MAG – using ceramic tiles
• Self-verification on all welds
• Adhering to all SHE related standards associated with welding, including fume control

Your Skills and requirements:
• Modern Apprenticeship certificate also known as Trade Papers (you will be required to provide papers)
• Ceramic Tile Welding Knowledge
• Knowledge and experience in Welding and use of associated equipment
• Flux core arc welding experience
• Deposit welds that pass both visual and NDE examinations
• Materials experience of welding carbon steel thickness 4-10mm range
• Clear understanding of SHE and Risk Assessment awareness
• Background in major construction / manufacturing environment
• Welding with MCAW consumables
• Welding aluminium with MIG process
• Welding with automated equipment
