The All About Barrhead Winter Glow Up is BACK for 2026, and we're ready to give Barrhead another festive makeover with a whole day of Christmas magic, family fun and plenty of sparkle! ✨

🎅 Santa's Grotto – Meet the big man at the Foundry, 11am–4pm.
💚 Grinch Grotto – Visit everyone's favourite Christmas grouch at the Barrhead Centre, 12pm–3pm.
🎬 Christmas Cinema – Festive films at the Foundry! 12-4pm
🎆 FREE Fireworks Finale – Lighting up the Barrhead sky at 5.30pm!

💚 NEW FOR 2026 – THE GRINCH GO SLOW! 💚

You've heard of the Santa Dash… well, we're doing things a wee bit differently!

Join us at 4.30pm for our first ever Grinch Go Slow – a 3km Grinch themed stomp around Barrhead! 🚶💚

We'll be on a mission to turn that grumpy Grinch's frown upside down, bring back his Christmas spirit and light up our Christmas tree, complete with its BRAND NEW STAR! ⭐🎄

✨ And as the evening draws in, watch Barrhead gradually come alive with the glow of our Christmas lights, bringing festive cheer to the town!

🚶🚌🚆 Getting here: We encourage everyone to walk, hop on a bus or take the train. Our main event site is just opposite Barrhead Train Station!

You’ve probably walked up and down Barrhead Main Street hundreds of times, but have you ever noticed B Smile Studios? 🦷

Tucked away on Bank Street, just off Main Street, B Smile Studios is a local dental practice offering both NHS and private dental care, with a wide range of treatments available for the whole family!

As well as routine check-ups and general dentistry, the practice offers teeth whitening, white fillings, veneers, crowns and facial rejuvenation treatments. They also offer home visits on request for patients with mobility difficulties.

Of course, we know a trip to the dentist isn’t everyone’s favourite appointment, especially if you’re a nervous patient! Having a friendly, reassuring team who take the time to make you feel comfortable can make all the difference!

The salon on Cross Arthurlie Street has had a gorgeous transformation, creating a bright new space for independent hair and beauty professionals in Barrhead!

One of the businesses now based inside is Bespoke Hair Lounge, and judging by some of their recent work, it looks like everyone is getting the memo for winter… darker hair is definitely having a moment!

🎃 An update on Barrhead's Halloween Parade because we've had lots of enquiries this week!

As All About Barrhead Business Improvement District (BID) has now moved into its third five-year term, our focus has changed, and the Halloween Parade will no longer be part of our annual events calendar.

Hopefully you already know that All About Barrhead BID is funded by annual contributions from local businesses. When developing our latest five-year Business Plan, we worked closely with Barrhead businesses to ask them what they wanted the priorities for the future to be.

One of the main things we all wanted was to invest more in lasting improvements to Barrhead town centre, and have a smaller, more focused events programme.

🎄 We know you might miss the Halloween event but there's good news! Some of the best-loved elements of Halloween are finding a new home in our Christmas celebrations, which will now feature a parade and fireworks! 🎆

Alongside Christmas, we'll also continue to celebrate the people who make Barrhead special through our annual Community Awards.

This new approach allows us to build on the success of two of our key events over the years, while investing in improvements that make Barrhead a better place to visit, shop and spend time throughout the year.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported the Halloween Parade over the years, and especially to the local businesses whose contributions made it all possible. ❤️

We look forward to celebrating with you at Christmas! 🎄

Barnardo’s in Barrhead is always worth a wee browse, with pre-loved clothes, homeware, books, toys and plenty of unexpected finds waiting on the shelves.
