It’s not our end of town … but we think it is really important for Bangoras a whole. So if you can please write to Nichola Mallon and express your frustration.

Back Queen’s Parade

At this evening’s Council meeting Elected Members unanimously restated their support for the regeneration of Queen’s Parade and their frustration at the decision by the Department for Infrastructure to hold up Bangor Marine’s planning application.

Councillors are calling on the Infrastructure Minister to attend a meeting of the Council to explain the Department’s actions and listen to local concerns about the impact.

Elected Members for the Bangor Central area are going to Stormont on Monday to further lobby the Minister on the issue.

If you are a Bangor resident or business and back the Queen's Parade development, you may be interested in writing to the Minister for Infrastructure, Nichola Mallon, asking her to support the Council’s decision on the planning application; to simply return the planning application to the Council and to secure this critical £50M investment for Bangor.

For contact details and more information on the current situation with this development go to www.ardsandnorthdown.gov.uk/business/bangor-regeneration/queens-parade

For an overview of the proposal for the site, visit Bangor Marine's dedicated website at Home - Bangor Marine (queensparadebangor.com), where you can sign up for a newsletter to receive news and updates.

It's already getting rough out there. Remember ... keep yourself safe and you will be keeping our friends at RNLI Bangor safe.

Looks like it's going to be a wild weekend! Perfect for enjoying a coffee, a bite to eat (or a hot whiskey!) inside and out of the elements! The Rabbit Rooms, The Guillemot Kitchen Cafe Winebar, or The Salty Dog are cozy spots ... however, if you are determined to brave the fresh air then grab a bite at The Salty Pup Food Truck.

💥DEADLINE - 14TH DECEMBER💥
Just a reminder that whilst it may have a March 22 expiry date you have to use your Spend Local card by the 14th December. But don't worry if you can't make up your mind now. Pretty much all of The Pier Quarter businesses will sell you a voucher that can be used anytime next year (and a few will give you a bit extra when you buy one😉)

A great way to get you (and your house) into the Christmas Spirit!

A few changes behind the stoves in The Pier Quarter and the chance to welcome a new face!

With the success of the lockdown inspired businesses of The Salty Pup Food Truck and The Peppery Cat Irish Grocer, Tim Brunton has been promoted to Executive Chef to drive them forward and oversee activity at the Salty Dog.

Where Andy Scollick has moved to take up the position of Head Chef. After his successes at the Boat House and with GBM Andy is looking to round out his cheffing experience by managing a bigger team in a more high volume, but still quality, environment.

This has allowed us to recruit John Hollywood as the new Head Chef at The Boat House. John comes with experience of larger kitchens and is now looking to develop his own unique style whilst retaining the Boat House’s concentration on presenting great local produce in the most imaginative way. With experience at NI’s newest Michelin star restaurant The Muddlers Club as well as at Deane’s Eipic and Tedford’s, John has a wealth of experience from which to develop the Boat House kitchen.

We look forward to our customers experiencing our chefs expertise in both establishments. ✨

Keep an eye out this weekend for a detailed post of the background & experience of our new Head Chef John Hollywood. 🤍

A great way to get some Christmas shopping done and make our seas safer!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas🎄!!
I know it is only September, but don't hang around, these RNLI Chrismas cards, calenders and toys won't hang around for long.
Every penny raised will go directly to the RNLI Bangor Branch 😊

And we have a Guinness world record holder down at The Pier Quarter!
