🌱 Garden centre sales show resilience in 2026

There’s encouraging news for the UK garden centre sector, with the latest figures from the Horticultural Trades Association (HTA) showing a strong July.

Garden centre sales were 11% higher than July 2025, helping year-to-date sales move 2% ahead of 2025 and 12% ahead of 2024.

The figures are particularly positive given the challenging conditions businesses have continued to navigate this year, from extreme weather and changing consumer confidence to increased operating and employment costs.

For the thousands of people working across garden centre retail, plants, gardening, buying, operations and management, it’s another indication of the resilience and adaptability of the sector.

We're looking for a Landscape Supervisor to join the team at the Shuttleworth Botanic Garden on the Isle of Man – an exciting botanic garden where innovative landscape design, world-class plant collections, and conservation come together.🌴

This hands-on role is perfect for someone with experience in large-scale landscape or garden management who enjoys leading teams, mentoring others, and helping create exceptional outdoor spaces.

What you'll bring:
🌱 3–5 years' experience in landscape, horticulture or garden management
🌺Strong knowledge of temperate plants, soils and landscape maintenance
✨Leadership and mentoring experience
