Operations Manager” can mean very different things.

Sometimes it is keeping production ticking over.

Sometimes it is warehouse management and scheduling.

Sometimes it is helping modernise and scale a specialist manufacturing business during a major period of transformation.

This role is firmly in the third camp.

I am working with a highly respected textile and garment manufacturing business in Newcastle that is growing significantly and investing heavily in operational systems, visibility, and process improvement.

This is about:
Improving manufacturing efficiency and workflow visibility
Labour tracking and production costing
Supporting operational scaling and systems development
Working within a specialist garment/textile production environment
Helping modernise processes without losing craftsmanship and quality
Working closely with leadership during a major growth phase

The business is heritage-led but genuinely technology-positive.
ERP systems, internally developed apps, operational reporting, process visibility… they want somebody who enjoys improving how manufacturing operations work.

This is not a generic warehouse/logistics role. And it is not a heavily corporate manufacturing environment either.
They need somebody who understands production, garments/textiles, systems, and people.

1st Line” and “2nd Line” can mean very different things.
Sometimes it is password resets and basic ticket handling.
Sometimes it is real troubleshooting, broader exposure, and building proper technical foundations.
This role is firmly in the second camp.
I am working with a well-established MSP in Ashford looking for a 1st / 2nd Line Support Engineer who wants to develop, not stay stuck.
This is about:
Troubleshooting across Microsoft 365, desktop, and user environments
Getting hands-on with Active Directory, Intune, and endpoint management
Building networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP)
Learning from a structured team and progressing into 2nd Line
Not repetitive tickets. Not siloed work. Not “just resets.”
If you are currently in 1st Line and want to grow, or early 2nd Line and want better exposure, this will make sense to you.

Career Hack: Build Real Interview Confidence

Confidence does not come from winging it. It comes from preparation.

If you want to walk into an interview feeling calm and in control, focus on the basics that actually move the needle.

Do the groundwork
Research the company, the role, and what success looks like there.
Practice your answers so they are clear, relevant, and to the point.
Mock interviews (with a recruiter or trusted friend) can make a huge difference.

Dress in a way that backs you up
Wear something professional that makes you feel comfortable and sharp. When you feel right, it shows.

Watch your inner voice
Swap the self-doubt for facts. Remind yourself what you have delivered, learned, and achieved.
Confidence grows when you focus on evidence, not nerves.

Use confident body language
Eye contact. Good posture. Calm delivery.

These small signals not only project confidence, they help you feel it too.
Preparation first. Confidence follows.

Woke up at 5:30am all excited
Spent the day exhibiting at the Kent business show, and so glad we did

Was so special to catch up with not only some of my current clients, but also old candidates, current candidates, new candidates and who knows maybe even new clients !

Lots of conversations and even for me I have used up my social battery and gone way over my daily word count 😱😂

But good to get away from the desk and meet people in person

Years ago I saw an image and that has stuck with me.

The classic toilet door symbol, the one everyone assumes is a dress. But someone had turned it into a superhero cape with the words: “It was never a dress.”

So many of the women I work with are doing incredible things every day, be that leading teams, building careers in tech, returning to work after raising families, starting businesses, stepping into roles they once doubted they were ready for.

Not always loudly.
Often just getting on with it.
Quiet resilience. Determination. Strength.

Sometimes the cape is invisible… but it is definitely there. Happy International Women’s Day to all the women showing up, pushing forward, and making things happen.

We are currently working with a growing MSP in Kent who are looking to hire a Client Services Manager and this one will suit someone who really enjoys the relationship side of managed services.

Not sales targets.
Not firefighting tickets.
But proper ownership of client experience end-to-end.

This is very much a trusted advisor style role where you will:
• Own key client relationships
• Lead service reviews and QBRs
• Manage escalations calmly and professionally
• Work closely with Service Desk and Projects
• Focus on retention and service quality

🚗 Driving licence required

We are currently working with a growing MSP in Kent who are looking to bring in a Junior Network Engineer and this is a great one for someone early in their networking journey who wants proper hands-on exposure.

This is not a sit-behind-a-screen support role.
It is a genuinely varied position where you will be out on client sites, building, configuring, installing, and troubleshooting real network environments.

You will be getting stuck into things like:
• Switches, routers, firewalls and wireless
• VLANs, subnetting and core networking fundamentals
• Structured cabling (Cat6 / fibre)
• Network cabinet builds and physical installs
• Supporting senior engineers on real client projects

🚗 Driving licence required

I am especially keen to speak with people who enjoy the practical side of networking as well as the logical configuration piece. This role really does blend both.
If you are in an MSP already (or want to break into one), this could be a very solid next step.

We are currently working with a well-established MSP in Kent who are looking to appoint a Service Desk Team Lead and this is a great step up for the right person.

This role is not about being the best tech on the desk.

It is about leading from the front, keeping ticket flow moving, supporting engineers, and making sure customers consistently get a great service.

If you are the person who already finds yourself:
• Mentoring junior engineers
• Keeping an eye on queues and SLAs
• Stepping in when escalations appear
• Wanting more ownership and visibility
…then this could be a very natural next move.

You will be responsible for an 11-engineer service desk, working closely with the Service Director to drive performance, CSAT, and continuous improvement.

We are particularly keen to speak with people currently working in an MSP environment who are ready to step into or further develop within a Team Lead role.
