Happy Birthday Libby!

Well, it was yesterday but Libby came into the office today to collect her card and vouchers (and have her photo taken 📸).

Libby has been with Respectful Care - Nottingham North for about eight months now and has settled in really well to her role.

It’s fair to say that she has built up excellent relationships with her clients!

Albie's grandma is our wonderful carer Anne-Marie.

She messaged us to say: "I know most of you will not be aware, but my grandson Albie had been in hospital the last six weeks, and we were of course expecting him to eventually come home.

"With great sadness, little Albie was suddenly taken from us, passing away on Monday morning (May 25, 2026). My daughter has set up this gofundme to support her brother and family.

"We are all heartbroken 💔"

Anne-Marie, all our thoughts are with you and your family at this time.

The last 6 weeks have been an incredibly difficult and heartbreaking journey for my Brot… Yolanta Knight needs your support for A beautiful farewell for Albie

The sun's great, isn't it?

Warmth, finally, after long wintry months.

Just what we need.

But, it's not for everyone.

If you look at the NHS information, the heat isn't great for a number of people, especially older people, people who live on their own, and people who have a serious or long-term illness.

So please make sure you're keeping an eye on relatives, friends, and your neighbours.

Make sure people hydrate, close curtains, and if they have to go out, wear the right clothing.

We're so pleased to be able to share that our Carers of the Month for April are ... Trinity and Amaia.

Trinity has been with Respectful Care - Nottingham North for almost a year, and she has come very, very far in this time.

She is getting a lot of lovely compliments from her colleagues and clients about how far she has come and how much her confidence has grown.

And what's more, she has also built up an excellent rapport with her regular clients.

Well done Trinity.

Amaia has only been with us for around three months and has settled in fantastically well.

Her confidence has grown massively, she also gets a lot of compliments about her excellent care standards.

Amaia had never done care prior to this job but her colleagues often say you would think she has been working in care for years!

Great work Amaia.

We're so proud of the work our carers do day in, day out, making a difference all the time.

Amazing!!

Happy 93rd birthday to the wonderful Freda!

Freda, who lives in the Hucknall area, is celebrating her birthday with her lovely family today.

(They've got a nice buffet to get through!).

But our thoughtful carers Lyndsey and Tracy visited her yesterday and took a card and some chocolates to help her celebrate.

Freda, whose twin brother Fred died 29 years ago, was born in Hyson Green, Nottingham, and has previously lived in Aspley and Skegness too.

She was married to Malcolm, who died in 2014, and had two children, David, and the late Sandra. She has two grandchildren.

Freda worked at Boots and then in retail with the Co-Op, before working for a hairdresser and then retiring.

In terms of hobbies, she used to like walking, and she liked to clean too, or as David says, to pick up a duster and "have a good fettle about the place".

David says his mum is caring, and loving - although in her younger days she was a bit fiery too!

Well, happy birthday Freda, it is such an honour to help care for you.

𝟏𝟎-𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐲𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐞𝐲 ...

When home care worker Lyndsey first walked into the Respectful Care - Nottingham North to see if we were recruiting, little did she know it would be the start of a decade of working for us.

Before going into home care, Lyndsey worked for a Nottingham printing company, but left when she had her four children.

She then decided to work in care, so got a job with a home care provider.

But, after a while, she and some other then colleagues decided to look elsewhere.

So, she came to see Respectful Care - and successfully got a role with us.

And in her own words, she hasn’t looked back, adding that she can see herself still working for us in another 10 years!

“I like to think I look after people well, and that my standards are high,” says Lyndsey.

“𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒔 𝒔𝒆𝒆𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒏 𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆’𝒔 𝒇𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒔 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒔𝒆𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒓 𝒉𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒔. 😃

“It’s difficult not to get attached but when you are treating people like family, it is hard not to.”

She knows how important it is to treat people properly, to respect people, and to put them at the heart of what she does.

Part of that is because she knows what it is like to care for somebody close, having looked after her late father, George (or Parge to his grandchildren), a man she calls her hero.

She and her sister, and her children, all looked after him.

𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐋𝐲𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐞𝐲, 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥.

And she shared some wonderful words about people she has worked with over the years.

She added: “We have a great set of carers, and our job is so rewarding. It can also be emotional, and sometimes you don’t switch off when you go home and close your door.

“So, a big shout out to all the home care carers - I’ve worked with some fantastic carers past and present.”

We absolutley love the fact that many carers who join Respectful Care - Nottingham North choose to stay with us for years.

And as such we're delighted that Ellen is celebrating her five-year anniversary.

It's safe to say that Ellen is a fantastic carer who builds rapport with her clients and she certainly gets great feedback from them and their families.

So well done Ellen, we're so proud to have you on board.
