🌍 Why are companies starting to care more about dual careers?

Because international mobility no longer involves just one career, it often involves two.🦓

Today, many expatriate assignments include partners who also have strong professional identities and ambitions. When their career is put on hold, it can create frustration, loss of motivation and sometimes even lead families to reconsider the relocation.

Companies are beginning to understand that supporting the partner’s career increases the success of international assignments.
When both careers are considered, families adapt more easily, employees are more engaged and mobility becomes more sustainable.

It is no longer only a question of relocation logistics.
It is about recognizing talent on both sides of the couple.❤️

💬 Do you think companies should actively support the careers of expat partners?

AI as an ally for expat spouses: not to replace your talent, but to reveal it.

When you move abroad as an expat spouse, everything can suddenly feel uncertain.

Your career path.
Your professional identity.
Your confidence.
Your network.
Even the way you introduce yourself.

One day, you know exactly who you are professionally.
And the next, you are in a new country, trying to understand the job market, the language, the codes, the culture, the paperwork, and the hidden rules of recruitment. 🌍

For many expat spouses, the question is not only:

“How do I find a job?”

It is also:

“How do I explain my career gap?”
“How do I adapt my CV to this country?”
“How do I talk about my experience in another language?”
“How do I rebuild confidence after months, or even years, away from the job market?”
“How do I make my international journey sound like a strength, not a weakness?”

This is where AI can become a real ally. 🤖✨

Not because AI has all the answers.
Not because it can replace human support, real connections, or professional experience.

But because it can help expat spouses take the first step when everything feels too heavy.

AI can help you rewrite your CV for a new job market.
It can help you prepare for an interview.
It can help you translate your skills without losing your personality.
It can help you write a LinkedIn message when you don’t know how to start.
It can help you identify your transferable skills.
It can help you practice your professional pitch.
It can help you understand job descriptions, recruitment vocabulary, and cultural expectations.

And sometimes, that first step is exactly what you need.

Because when you are an expat spouse, you often carry invisible responsibilities too: finding a home, helping the family settle, managing schools, childcare, groceries, appointments, paperwork, and daily life in a new country. 🏠🎒🛒📄

Your career can slowly move to the background.

But it should not disappear.

At Absolutely Talented, we believe AI should not be seen as a threat.
It can be a tool for clarity, confidence, and visibility.

It can help you put words on what you have lived.
It can help you reconnect with your strengths.
It can help you prepare your next move with more confidence.

But the talent is still yours.

AI can suggest.
You decide.
AI can structure.
You bring the story.
AI can help you prepare.
You bring the courage.

Because your international journey is not a gap.
It is proof of adaptability, resilience, intercultural intelligence, and courage.

And with the right tools, the right support, and the right community, your next professional chapter can become clearer. 🦓❤️

Expat male partners: the taboo we rarely talk about.

When we talk about expat partners, we often imagine women who paused their careers to follow their spouse abroad.

But there is another reality we speak about much less:
men who become the accompanying partner.

🦓 Men who leave a job, a network, a professional identity, a country, a routine.
🦓 Men who arrive in a new place and suddenly feel invisible.
🦓 Men who are expected to “manage”, “adapt”, “stay strong”, and not talk too much about the emotional or professional impact of relocation.

Because for many male expat partners, the challenge is not only finding a new job.

It is also dealing with a completely new daily life.

🦓 Finding a home.
🦓 Understanding how schools work.
🦓 Looking for a nursery or childcare solution.
🦓 Doing the groceries in a language they may not fully master yet.
🦓 Taking the children to school, appointments, activities, or playdates.
🦓 Managing administrative paperwork, doctors, insurance, transport cards, family schedules, and all the small emergencies of everyday life.

These tasks may sound ordinary.
But in a new country, they can become exhausting, confusing, and deeply isolating.

And behind all of this, there are questions many male expat partners may not dare to say out loud:

“Who am I if I’m not working right now?”
“How do I explain this career gap?”
“Why do I feel uncomfortable being the one who followed?”
“Am I allowed to feel lost too?”
“What happens to my own ambitions while I’m helping everyone else settle in?”

The truth is: yes.

Being an accompanying partner is not a gendered experience.
Losing your professional landmarks, rebuilding your network, questioning your identity, and starting again in a new country can affect anyone.

And yet, male expat partners often face an extra silence.
They may feel pressure to appear confident.
They may hesitate to ask for help.
They may struggle with stereotypes around success, masculinity, income, family roles, and professional status.

At Absolutely Talented, we believe every expat partner deserves to be seen as a talent, not as “the plus one”.

Because managing the invisible work of expatriation is not “doing nothing”.
It is organizing a whole new life.
It is helping a family adapt.
It is solving problems every day.
It is learning new codes, new systems, new rules, new ways of belonging.

Whether you are a woman or a man, your career matters.
Your doubts are legitimate.
Your transition deserves support.
And your international journey can become a real professional strength.

Because following someone abroad does not mean leaving yourself behind.

It means entering a new chapter.
And that chapter can also belong to you. ❤️

Restarting a career after moving to a new country is rarely easy.
New job market, new professional codes, new network… and sometimes a CV that no longer seems to fit anywhere.

Today, artificial intelligence can become a powerful ally for expat partners.🤖

✨ Clarify your career direction
🦓 Adapt your CV to a new job market
🦓 Prepare for interviews
🦓 Identify your transferable skills
🦓 Rebuild confidence in your professional story

AI does not replace talent.
But it can help reveal it, structure it, and make it visible again, even after a career break or an international move.

Because an expat partner is not a “career on hold”.
More often, it’s a global talent in transition. ❤️

Do you think AI can really help expat partners relaunch their careers abroad?

💡 Up to 70% of jobs are never publicly advertised.

This means that a large part of professional opportunities never appear on job boards.

They circulate through conversations, recommendations, introductions, or professional networks. This is what many experts call the hidden job market.

For expatriates and expat partners, this reality can be surprising.
Sending dozens of applications online sometimes leads to very few responses… not because the profile isn’t strong, but because many opportunities simply aren’t visible.

That’s why networking plays such an important role when building a career abroad. 🦓

Meeting people in your industry, attending professional events, joining communities, or even having informal conversations can open doors that a CV alone cannot.

Because sometimes, the opportunity you’re looking for is not online yet.
It’s already being discussed somewhere.❤️

Sending dozens of applications… and still no answer.
If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. 📄

For many expat partners, job searching in a new country can feel confusing and frustrating. The problem is not always your experience or your skills.

Sometimes, it’s simply about understanding how the local job market works.

Here are 5 things to check if your CV gets no response:

🔎 Is your CV adapted to the local standards of the country?
🦓 Is it clear and focused on the role you are applying for?
🦓 Are your transferable skills visible enough?
🦓 Does your international experience sound like a strength or like a gap?
🦓 And most importantly: are you relying only on online applications instead of building a local network?

Many careers don’t restart with a perfect CV.
They restart with the right strategy and the right connections. 🚀

And sometimes, a small adjustment can make a big difference. ❤️

Which of these challenges feels the most familiar in your job search abroad?
